Bastion now on iPhone as well as iPad

IPhone owners can now play Bastion alongside their friends with iPads.

The popular action role-playing game from Supergiant, which made its debut on Xbox 360, is now a universal app compatible with iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, and 5th generation iPod Touch. If you already own the version for iPad (which came out in August), you'll receive this update for free. Supergiant added iCloud support so save data could transfer seamlessly between devices.

New players can purchase the game for $4.99 in the App Store.

"Bastion for iPad was our first foray into iOS gaming, and the response we got was amazing," the developer wrote on its blog.

"Now, we’d previously stated in our FAQ for the iPad version that we chose to focus exclusively on iPad both for technical reasons and because we 'felt the game experience would not translate well to the iPhone’s smaller screen,'" said Supergiant. "Well, the iPhone 5 added quite a bit of screen real estate, so we decided to take another look. And sure enough, we found that Bastion looked great and ran beautifully on the new device."

Supergiant also found the game played better than anticipated on iPhone 4S and the 5th generation iPod Touch, too. Bastion also works well on the iPad Mini and 4th generation iPad.

Here is a list of devices supported after the 1.1 update:

– iPad 2
– iPad 3rd Generation
– iPad 4th Generation
– iPad mini
– iPhone 4S
– iPhone 5
– iPod touch 5th Generation
