Assassin’s Creed film revealed as trilogy by Michael Fassbender

The more leaps of faith the better

The Assassin's Creed film is only a few days away from releasing on December 21st, and hopes are high that it could break the mantra of bad video game based films. It seems as if actor and co-Producer Michael Fassbender agrees as he revealed that they have plans for a trilogy.

We've known for a while that a sequel has been planned, as it was announced this Spring before we even had our first trailer for this upcoming original. Now, in a recent interview with Cinemablend, Fassbender revealed his plans for a trilogy. He noted that

This is the sort of origin of his story. We have an idea of where he's going to go over the next two films. We kind of did a three-film arc. We'll wait and see how people respond to this, but for sure, we have an idea of where he's going to go next.

A trilogy makes sense after all, as simply an origin story would leave people hanging and wanting more. Since a sequel had already been ordered, there's unlimited possibilites to where the Animus can take the trilogy. The movie could very well tank hard and get the sequels scrapped. There was a premiere this week and reactions would have leaked out if it was that bad. We'll get to see for ourselves next week when it launches on the 21st.
