Arma 3 Apex: Old Man scenario is now out as free update to all owners

Promises more than 10 hours of singleplayer content

Bohemia Interactive has released a brand-new scenario for its hugely-popular military-sandbox game ARMA 3. Old Man is now available to all owners of the base game and the Apex expansion in the form of a free update. Watch the release trailer here!

Arma 3 Apex: Old Man was already available for owners of Bohemia’s standout military simulator since late last year. But back then it was offered via the Steam Workshop in beta. It turns out that the open-ended scenario was a huge success among players, prompting the developer to integrate it into the actual game.

Thus, Old Man is now made available to every owner of the Arma 3 Apex as a free update. The new scenario takes place in the lush tropical island of Tanoa and thus requires the possession of the Apex expansion. But thankfully, Arma 3 and all its DLCs are currently on deep sale via Steam and Bohemia Store. You can grab the Arma 3 Apex bundle which contains the base game and the Apex expansion at 74% off for just $20.34. A steal when you consider the insane amount of content included in it.

The new scenario drops you into Tanoa’s 100 square kilometer tropical terrain with just a few instructions. It’s up to you to find your way around, gather intel, obtain weapons and equipment, and decide on the best tactics to accomplish objectives. While the scenario aims to offer an authentic experience, you do have access to a few convenience features, such as the option to wait and skip time, and the ability to fast travel between known safe houses.

In Old Man, players assume the role of a veteran Legionnaire who finds himself in the underdog position of preventing both a humanitarian crisis alongside a sinister plot that is threatening the idyllic island of Tanoa. Unlike other scenarios in the game, this one gives players an almost unlimited amount of freedom to plan and tackle the mission any way they want. It’s the ideal setup for the large sandbox at hand.

Users who were subscribed to the scenario when it was in beta on the Workshop need to unsubscribe for the scenario to work without issues.
