Alawar releases Carl the Caveman

Carl the Caveman needs your help

Dale City, Va. – September 6, 2005 – Giant
mushrooms and treasure chests are ripe for the picking, but Carl the Caveman
can’t gather them on his own. Alawar Entertainment, a leading publisher of
downloadable games for the PC, wants you to help the primitive protagonist push
rocks, smash crates and avoid traps as he solves each level of his new arcade
puzzle game.

Carl also has to evade spiteful enemies who
want the riches for themselves. Dragons, Blue Goblins and Mad Mushrooms will do
their best to prevent our hero from reaching his goal. But you can get rid of
them by pushing boulders onto their heads. In order to open the exit at the end
of each stage, you’ll also need to collect keys that can open locked doors and
use magical springs and teleporters.

Carl’s adventure is set in a side-scrolling
world teeming with vibrant life. Flowers hop, skip and boogie while clouds dance
in the background; even Carl can’t help but smile in the crooked way cavemen do.

You’ll grin, too, as he uses his giant hammer
to shatter rocks or his feet dangle in the air as a magical spring lifts him to
higher ground.

Carl the Caveman is a game of logic that
blends modern graphics with classic fun. In the tradition of the great games of
the past, the controls are simple: the arrow keys move Carl in the desired
direction and the spacebar makes him swing his mallet. That’s it.

After you’ve learned everything you need to
know during a brief tutorial, you and Carl will be off on a grand journey.

Features includes two game modes for players
with different preferences. Each level in Arcade Mode offers a race to the exit
before the clock stops ticking. Time is limited in Logic Mode, too, but the
stages are more puzzle-oriented than those in Arcade Mode.

Children who don’t have the experience to
solve the regular levels can enjoy the special Kids Mode, which offers easy
gameplay tweaked for young fingers and developing minds.

What you get:

• Arcade and Logic Modes

• Special Kids Mode with easy gameplay

• Bright, colorful 3D graphics

• Add your favorite MP3 music files
