Bungie outlines upcoming Destiny in-game events

All throughout Destiny's development we kept hearing from Bungie that they were creating a game with a 10-year vision in mind. Even though the highly anticipated MMO shooter just released on Tuesday, Bungie is already set to deliver on those promises. Today, they revealed the first batch of in-game events planned for the next few weeks.

The first event actually starts this weekend and revolves around the Crucible PvP. Bungie is introducing a new objective mode called "Salvage" where Guardians will fight to claim and salvage relics on small to medium sized maps built for 3v3 combat. "Secure the relics. Disrupt enemy probes. Destroy the opposition," the description reads. Rewards for partaking in this weekend event include Crucible gear, Crucible marks, and Crucible reputation. It'll begin tomorrow, September 12 and run through September 14.

The next event is "Vault of Glass," a level 26 raid beneath Venus that'll open on September 26. "No one know what lies within the Vault of Glass, only that beyond its gates you will face your greatest challenge yet," the teaser reads. "Gather your Light. Stand together. Become legend." Rewards for Vault of Glass include raid set gear and Ascendant materials.

Bungie also revealed three more events, but didn't actually detail them. Two of the events — Combined Arms and Queen's Wrath — will be held some time this month while the third, Iron Battle, will take place in October.

"These are only some of the surprises we have planned for you," Bungie promises. "Very soon, strange characters will arrive in the Tower with special offerings in hand."

"Public Events will erupt from the skies over your favorite destinations with greater frequency. And, Bungie will enter the fray with some bounties of our own for you to claim – if you can."
