Assassin’s Creed: Rogue officially announced

Assassin's Creed: Rogue has officially been confirmed thanks to a Game Informer cover reveal. The publication announced today that September's cover will feature both Assassin's Creed: Unity, which has already been announced for Xbox One and PS4, and Assassin's Creed: Rogue, which we learned earlier today is coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 in November.

GI shed some light on both games, but seeing as how Unity has already been detailed and shown off by Ubisoft, I'll stick to what we learned about Rogue.

For starters, Rogue, as rumors suggested, will place you in the shoes of Shay Patrick Cormac, a former Assassin-turned-Templar. It'll borrow the same naval gameplay ideas of Black Flag, seeing you navigate a ship across the North Atlantic. Confirmed locales that you'll visit in your journey include the Appalachian River Valley and a reimagined New York. Shay is described as an assassin hunter "who has to be even more clever to outsmart his sneaky foes."

Assassin's Creed: Rogue will take place during the Seven years' War, filling the gap between Black Flag and Assassin's Creed 3. apparently, there's a crucial link to the Kenway saga, but Game Informer wouldn't spoil any details. I'm assuming the feature article will reveal more.
