As an MMO gamer it took me a long time to believe these studies weren't just counting female characters, but I think that perhaps it's been like this and the culture just tried to hide it. I've known tons of women who played games. Played EQ with my sis back at launch, and my wife played Zelda since back in the days. From the below comments though you can see it's still slightly "taboo" lol. Hopefully it becomes a non issue soon and we can find a new group to pick on. Like people who still like Tetris, yuck! Get with 3d already!

Sadly they've taken down the second video. I'm actually annoyed by this since last week was Comedy Week, and I bet I could find in a matter of seconds at least 10 Youtube backed videos more offensive than hers. Proves her point. I find that she makes good points, but sometimes can be alittle one sided. That being said, it's hard to argue, I've been a gamer since the 90's and can attest to the fact that though there are shining examples of awesome women in gaming (Metroid, Tomb Raider) they were few a far in between and there was always a catch. (Metroid reveal or Lara's waist to bust ratio). Hope she gets the video back up because I'd love to hear more of her ideas. Wish comments could be turned off to bad replies because I'd love to have a real sit down chat with her over her ideas and perhaps show her it's not all doom and gloom for the ladies of the game era, but again we're far from an equal footing in that arena.

Hoping no other consoles follow suit. This alone is driving me to Sony's loving embrace. Now there are other factors as well, but this is just a big middle finger to a gaming community in the middle of an economic crisis begging for value buys. Gamestop is not our friends anymore. I felt more at home there pre-EB world take over. So I have a feeling them not being all over media with social outrage means MS is giving them a kickback to soften the blow. The used game wars will continue to get uglier, but I say get smart about it instead of getting greedy and scared MS! Make games worth buying new! Make DLC content that only comes in the new box and you can't get it anywhere else. You plan to support MMO's, there's no way to buy that second hand. Make the keys in the box, and make the account tied to a HDD. It's so simple but these suits want to juice us dry for money instead of thinking critically. They could be heroes of the next gen, but this just makes them look like villians.

Ohh the love of super spike Volleyball. I remember those large eyed Germans and their super spikes of doom! Moving as slow as molasses, but if they laid their hands on the ball, it was game over. Unless someone managed to have faster "Press A" skills than me, which was unlikely since I had very strong wrists and fore arms from......um.....Tennis practice. Yea that's it tennis.

So glad I bought my wife a PS3 for Mother's Day. I'll buy this for her for her birthday and even play it for her. Why hasn't she left me yet? Excellent question.
