I am a hardcore gamer that has every consul that's ever been made...Well it seemed like the OP was complaining about the Xbox One not offering anything for "hardcore gamers" (whatever that even means - to my interpretation it is someone who dedicates a lot of time to gaming, plays a large range of games and seeks the best quality gaming experience at the best price) over the PC, since most of the games are also available on PC, although some are still console-exclusive. Nobody is forcing them to purchase the XBOX One, or to play games that utilize Kinect functionality, so I'm just wondering why they haven't switched to mainly PC gaming already, especially for single-player games? The only reason I can think of why a knowledgeable hardcore gamer would stick with consoles is because of the console exclusive games and better multiplayer - and the Xbox One still offers this, so what is the issue? You need to appreciate that consoles ARE largely marketed towards families and casual gamers, which is why they focus on interactive novelty features such as the Kinect/Eye.

All the top games are on PC, most now have online multiplayer, and you can hook up an XBOX 360 controller to recreate the console experience. You will also get infinitely better graphics and smoothness of play. At the end of the day, consoles are for casual gamers who want portability and less hassle.
