I was reading Ender's Game earlier this...I hadn't heard of him either until I saw that movie. I don't think people realize how hard that game was to make. Especially because it was only two people, right? Until it was just him. That's a huge task, and he seems like a perfectionist. I'm not defending his behavior, but I'm a creator myself (music) and we can be very demanding and critical of ourselves. It always reminds me of this quote by Cliff Bleszinski, in his open letter to Phil: "Never underestimate the intestinal fortitude of the anonymous loser hiding behind a monitor and his or her ability to sling vitriol at someone who willingly puts themselves out there." http://dudehugespeaks.tumblr.com/post/56805389679/dynamite-fishing-an-open-letter-to-phil-fish

Like my wife always says, you have to separate the artist from the art. That's usually hard for me to do. I was reading Ender's Game earlier this year and started reading up on the author and man, that was a bad idea. Great video & article, Lance.. I'm glad I watched it. I remember thinking while watching Indie Game The Movie that he had a lot of anxiety. He reminds me of kids back in school that didn't know how to handle themselves. Always on the defense, even if you aren't being mean to them. Obviously some people said some shitty stuff to him and although he's not necessarily wrong responding in kind, he could have reversed it immediately by responding in love, but he doesn't think that way. Fez is really cool. Not just the art style but the music. I love the music. But there was a bug in the 360 version that caused me to lose my save file and he refused to patch it because of Microsoft's expensive policy. So i figure ill give it a few years and play it on PC instead. I got the soundtrack free with the Steam version so that's cool.
