Modern Warfare Countdown Clock Begun

If there is one thing you can confirm from Activision, it's going to be a new title from one of their money pumping franchises. If it's not Tony Hawk, it's Guitar Hero or something else. Case in point is Modern Warfare, and not only can we expect a new entry in the franchise, we can expect it this year. Case in point is this little count down clock Activision has on this little site. Know what it's counting down to? That's right, Game Developers Conference, the very same event Modern Warfare 2 was announced for. Yeah, I think it's pretty safe to say that this is an indicator of what's to come from the Modern Warfare franchise. It's going to be pretty interesting to see how much Infinity Ward touched this game, as there's not much left of that shell of a developer. We're going to find out all the juicy details next week, so keep your anticipation to a gentle simmer. Don't want you to pop your top. read more

Gears of War 3 Release Date Confirmed for September 20

If you are looking forward to Gears of War 3, I've got some great news for you. Epic and Microsoft have announced that the game now has the official release date of September 20. Sure, it's still a drag that the title once had a release date for April 19, 2011, but September isn't really that far off in the long term. And that extra time has given Xbox EU Community Manager Graehme Boyd time to announce multiplayer stages and weapons. In multiplayer, there will be Trenches, Overpass, Mercy, Checkout, and Thrashball for new environments, and new weapons include a sawed-off shotgun, a Bayonet Charge, a new "retro" Lancer, and more. Dedicated servers will also be supported. I'm going to be playingGears of War 3 tonight, so keep an eye out for my preview over at GameZone sometime soon. read more

Telltale announces even more videogame franchise updates

Telltale Games, having rocked the world with Monkey Island games and other adventure titles had an event last night in San Francisco to announce some new titles. Not only did they announce some brand new titles, they announced some amazing new titles. Telltale will be bringing some amazing new games for 2011 and 2012. There's a brand new Puzzle Agent coming out, as well as a newly published title called Hector: Badge of Carnage. These are all pretty cool, however, that's not the most exciting announcement. Telltale will be making games based upon The Walking Dead, the zombie franchise that is rocking the comic and film world. Additionally, they will be making a title for 2012 based on the series Fables, about fairy tales in real life. Finally, they are working on a reboot of the King's Quest franchise. All in all, it looks like Telltale is making some massive strides to rocking new IPs in games. read more

Top Games For Lonely Gamers

Now that Valentine's Day is several days behind us, I realized that my last list - "Top 5 Games to Play With Your Non-Gaming Significant Other on Valentine's Day" - probably alienated a lot of readers. After all (and I'm not poking fun) there are a lot of single gamers out there. That list was worthless to them - to you - so I thought this time I'd write the anti-list to that list. Thusly, I present: games to play when you're feeling utterly, inconsolably alone. Hit the jumpity-jump. read more
