commented on Remembering Ryan Davis, a jolly industry great that left us way too soon (1979 - 2013)
In only 34 years of life he managed to leave an Ebert-sized hole in our industry. Maybe it's in bad taste to compare the two but they both left us on similarly personal terms. It's a rare person that can have such an influence on so many people without ever meeting them. He'll be missed but the legacy he left behind is going to keep kicking ass and taking names.

I just replayed this on Vita and can confirm that it looks phenomenal on that screen. With headphones it might be the definitive version.

Ecco is one of those games that makes you wonder if it was games that grew up, or if you were the one that grew up. It's ahead of its time in a lot of ways and would probably be one of those indie game darlings if it came out today.

I think it's news at this point because the thing seems pretty small and sleek. Not having to compromise with an external power supply is great. Gotta love a console that's extremely powerful while maintaining a small footprint on a shelf. It's even better if you're someone who transports their console to a friend's house.
