**This article is so good i just had to sign up to post!**

Just to be clear, i haven't been this excited over a game since Skyrim. I cannot wait for PS2 to be released (or get a beta key).

But this is a fantastically written article that is difficult to fault. Vito has very shrewdley pointed out what could be considered some shortcomings of this project, specifically the lack of closure during any given play-time. These could certainly become an issue for some. However i believe this can be overcome by simply thinking slightly differently about what is considered a "victory". After all, as the old saying goes, "there are no winners in war, only survivors", and this game has the potential to make you feel both insignifacnt and at times heroic. Simply taking a base in this game is a monumental achievement. That would be one of the highest victories. Or taking out that damn sniper who is blizting your squad could be equally as important. The in-built VOIP will be a catalyst for in-game camraderie and that will keep many people going, especially those moments where everybody cheers at what they believe to be a "victorious" moment- that could be as simple as breaking through that tank blockade.

Vito also rightly points to the tantalising aspect of players judging themselves based on particular stats. That will make for Fansites that may even rival the likes of Wowhead in terms of info and usage, and community-driven leaderboards that will keep gamers coming back.

The only thing i am unsure of is if SoE can REALLY afford to run a triple-A game on cosmetic micro-transactions alone, not that i would mind paying a nominal fee (NOT the £8.99 p/m it still costs for original Planetside) to play each month. That must mean that the sheer variety of cosmetics and side-grades that you can purchase with real money must be vast.

I really cannot wait... Great article Vito.
