Now an auto-filling map is...I totally agree with the finishing move touch. The thought of it screams AWESOME! But as far as a map goes, I believe that a world map would take away from the games experience, its mystery! Not knowing what's ahead, whether you'll be going left or right, ascending or descending, climbing a ladder, not knowing the terrain, the landscape of an area, is what keeps us guessing, on edge, holding our breath, thinking, 'oh sh#*! what's next! Not knowing is one of the many facets of the souls' games that's so enticing! To me, and I'm sure to many others, giving us a map of uncharted territory is like holding our hand. Not knowing, being left in the dark with no clue of what lies ahead, is what's so alluring, that certain something that keeps us on the edge of our seats! The mystery is what's so breathtaking! I believe, if you take that away, some of your hardcore, faithful followers, myself included, would feel cheated, robbed of one of the games many enchantments!
