Top 10 Games that Need to be Made into Movies
Let’s face the facts: there really hasn’t been a really good (let alone a great) movie based on a video game in, well, ever. That hasn’t deterred Hollywood from releasing films in the oft-maligned Games-to-Film genre, with Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and soon to be Prince of Persia, God of War and Bioshock all put up on the big screen. However, there is some hope for the genre yet, should film studios take notice and release a film based on a game with decent screen chops. Here are some games that I think would transfer over well to celluloid:

 

Assassin's Creed
There aren’t enough movies about the Crusades, let alone assassins during the Crusades, and Altair’s story would work great on the big screen.
Half-Life
The epic adventures of Gordon Freeman and his trusty crowbar are compelling on their own, but the detailed universe behind the games would be a perfect fit for film.
Grand Theft Auto IV
Already a compelling storyline within the game, a GTA IV movie would open up the life of Niko Bellic to a whole new audience.
