Such was one subject brought up as Community Manager Robert Bowling of Infinity Ward spoke to NowGamer about how the current group of consoles still have plenty of life left in them. For all of you PS3 owners that are on the hunt for more trophies, you'll be happy to know that Bionic Commando Rearmed should be receiving a set of them when the next gen title hits stores early next year. The team is hard at work with the next gen game and are trying to release trophy support probably around the same time.-- Playstation Blog I think it's safe to say that PS3 owners are starting to realize just how awesome achievements trophies are. I'm guessing these will be the same as the Xbox 360 Achievements but that's not a bad thing. There are some pretty bad ass objectives to meet and you're guaranteed to pull your hair out trying to get them.

Analyst: Nintendo May Fire First Shot of Next-Gen War

Colin Sebastian, Analyst for Lazard Capital Markets told his clientele in an investor note on Monday that he believes that Nintendo could possibly be the first hardware to arrive on the scene, kicking off the next generation before the other guys are ready."At this point, we believe the consensus opinion among industry professionals is that the next significant hardware refresh is unlikely to occur before 2011, and more likely in 2012." "One possible exception to console timing may be Nintendo, which could opt to upgrade the Wii with faster processing power, DVD capability and/or greater storage." -- Edge OnlineI can sort of see this happening, though Nintendo is more likely to lead off with handhelds than with consoles. But in a sense, they have the most to gain by doing so, if they can manage to compete in terms of raw power with the other guys, possibly getting more cross-platform games into their grasp. That is, until the other two up the ante again.
