It ain't bragging if you back it up. Electronic Arts and DICE have redefined online warfare with Bad Company 2.
The developers of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 revealed last week that the PC version of the game has the most players. This is unusual for multiplatform games these days, but not for a Battlefield game. "PC currently has more people playing and are in game servers than both the consoles," read a post the game's associate producer on the official Bad Company 2 forum on March 3rd. This does not mean the PC version of Bad Company 2 is completely dominant however. "The PC had more players than either console not more than both consoles combined," the post read. "You'll need to work to beat both consoles combined effort."
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is storming Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network at record pace. Electronic Arts announced today that the military first person shooter is on pace to be the fastest downloaded demo in the company's history. The demo became available for download just five days ago. "We couldn't be more thrilled to hear that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is already in the hands of almost 2 1/2 million gamers, and it hasn't even shipped yet," said Patrick Bach, senior producer for the title. "This massive rush to experience the game early is proof positive that action gamers are looking for more. This is intelligent, strategic warfare that our competitors simply cannot replicate." Battlefield: Bad Company 2 launches for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on March 2 in North America and March 4 in Europe.
