Skyrim Creation Kit and Steam Workshop “nearly ready”

After a quite past couple of weeks, Bethesda finally updated fans on the status of several The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim features like the upcoming 1.4 update, and the much anticipated Creation Kit and Steam Workshop.

Bethesda revealed in a blog post, that both the Creation Kit and Steam Workshop are "nearly ready".

"We’re currently working with members of Valve and our modding community to do some final testing, and we’re on track for a public release near the end of the month," Bethesda informed fans.

The Creation Kit will be available to download for free and will contain the same development tools Bethesda used to create Skyrim.  A new Wiki and videos will be released in tandem with the creation Kit to help modders get started.

In addition to the Creation Kit, Bethesda is working with Valve to integrate Steam Workshop.  According to Bethesda, "The Creation Kit will bundle your mod and upload it to the Workshop, where everyone can browse, rate, and flag mods for download."

"We think Skyrim modding is one of the game’s best features, and we have the best modders of any game. It’s been a lot of exciting work for us, and we can’t wait to unleash it."

Bethesda also informed fans on the status of Skyrim's 1.4 update and their plans for the PC release of future updates.
