BioShock Infinite delay related to Grand Theft Auto 5 release?

Was BioShock Infinite delayed from its original October release to February 2013 to make room for Grand Theft Auto 5?

Responding to CVG, industry analyst Michael Pachter said it "makes a lot of sense" to make room for what is sure to be a blockbuster title in GTA 5.

"If (and that is a BIG 'if") there is any coordination within Take-Two among Rockstar and 2K Games, it makes a lot of sense that management would have shifted BioShock Infinite to make room for GTA V," Pachter said.

"It's entirely possible that the Rockstar team just committed to delivering GTA V on October 23 (write that in ink on your calendar), and Take-Two management thought it imprudent to launch their two biggest games of the year a week apart. I'm sure Irrational will make judicious use of the extra time, if the foregoing scenario is true."

"It's also entirely possible that Ken Levine and Irrational have truly decided to make the greatest game ever, and it will merely take another four months to finish," he added.

Last month, when Pachter went on record saying he expects some sort of GTA 5 announcement around E3, he also stuck by his original October 23 release date for the game, citing only BioShock Infinite as a potential competitor.  With Infinite out of the picture, it looks like the launch date prediction got a bit more intriguing.  Of course, if we don't see hear anything at or around E3, then I'd expect some sort of 2013 release for Grand Theft Auto 5, and believe Ken Levin when he says Irrational Games wants to make BioShock Infinite better.
