GameStop will stop accepting GameCube trades next month

A few weeks ago I found out on GameStop.com that the massive games retailer was no longer going to accept trade-ins for GameCube games, peripherals, or consoles. I didn't really think about it at the time–I simply shrugged it off. But then today, as I was doing some reading on Joystiq (yes, we can still read other game news sites … I think), it really hit me.

This whole thing will begin April 2, which is less than two weeks away. So if you've got some GameCube stuff that you want to trade in for practically nothing, act now. Alternatively, you can send me a message on here (click on my name at the top of the article and then click the "send message" button to the right of my profile) and let me know if there's anything you'd like to sell. In particular, I'm looking for copies of Star Fox Assault and Eternal Darkness, but if you've got something else, let me know anyway.

Where was I? Oh, right! So that's about it for the GameCube and GameStop. I always look back fondly at my time with the GameCube. I loved that little gaming box, and I played some great games on it.

It's also worth noting that GameCube games and peripherals are super cheap at GameStop right now. If there are some gems you wish to play, shop around and call your local GameStop stores. I know I'll be doing that over the next couple of weeks.
