Today’s top 10 tweets from the gaming industry – 5/2/12

What did you miss about video games today? What were some of the gaming industry's most popular people tweeting about? I'll give you 10 tweets I found awesome, informative, weird, funny, stupid, or whatever, and then I'll give some commentary on it. Also, we've gotten a few submissions from fans that have been retweeted by developers, publishers, or other gaming journalists; so as long as I have one to put up, I'll include a fan submission too.

And did you all hear about the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 debut trailer? Yea… it's going to be a heavy day of Black Ops 2.

It's sh*t like this that pisses gamers off. If you don't have to distribute physical copies, then you're saving money. That savings should also be extended to the gamers. Why should we pay the same price for a game when you're not spending the same amount?

tweet

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha… excuse me for a second. (Runs outside, but in view of a window. Can be seen laughing until wetting my jeans. Returns to inside.) Sorry about that. Someone was outside and ran up and threw water on my pants. What an as**ole.

tweet

Two tweets in a row from @DigitalGigolo?! Follow him. When I read this, I thought it would be more about this:

And less about Motorola.

Ah! And here's the first tweet about Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. If you havne't seen it, here's the reveal trailer:

There's a lot that happened in the trailer, so make sure you read my absurd thoughts on it HERE.

tweet

Digital Gigolo, what the f**k?! Three times in one day? Okay, so… this^. Exactly what he said is how I feel.

Is it a win? Or is it a loss for your bowels? I don't consider hunkering down on a toilet because of liquid sh*ts a #win. But to each his own. What did breakfast need more of? DIARRHEA!

This is proof that there's still good in the world. It has nothing to do with videogames, but it's a good story. Eric LeGrand was a football player at Rutgers that suffered a spinal injury, ening his football career and his ability to walk. He is now up to sitting upright on his own for 15 minutes, when originally, doctors believed he would never even be able to do that and that he'd be on a ventilator for the rest of his life. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (that's a football team for those of you with no interest in anything not needing a computer or console) has LeGrand's old college coach as their head coach now. They signed LeGrand — who would've been in this year's draft class — to a contract, and he currently takes up the last roster spot on their team. They did an awesome thing for this young man, and it's a feel good story.

Yes, it is. Thanks for reminding me that terrorists could, at any time, take control of unmanned flying weapons and just destroy us at will. I can't wait for the future!

And I'm sure there are going to be plenty of people that will consider it stupid and make fun of it. In case your wondering, David is not a fan of Call of Duty, as he's expressed before. If you really want to piss him off, tweet to him your love for the Call of Duty franchise and how much better its art style is than Kirby's.

Because only bros play CoD, right?

Tweet of the Day

tweet

Our Tweet of the Day goes to @totalwar and @notch (Markus Persson). That's right — duo Tweets of the Day. My column. My rules. Notch has the best responses ever! I love that he doesn't mind making fun of himself and has an awesome sense of humor. He could be mocapped in any game and I'd buy it. Put him in a boxing game. Put him in Borderlands 2 as a quest-giver. Cel-shaded Notch would be awesome. Put him in a Mass Effect dlc. Make sure you follow him on Twitter, as well as Total War (big battles are fun).
