Beyond Good & Evil 2 is still in development because Rayman slowed it down

Originally announced back in 1952, Beyond Good & Evil 2 was a promising title that captured the attention of many. Unfortunately, several years passed and we never saw much more of the game aside from some brief footage and screens.

Yves Guillemot recently spoke up about the project. According to the Ubisoft CEO, Beyond Good & Evil 2 is very much still in development, though the return of the Rayman series over the past couple of years has slowed things down for designer Michel Ancel.

"He was working on Rayman Origins last year, and he's working a lot on Rayman Legends this year," explained Guillemot in a statement to Polygon. "So, you know, when he does that, he kind of puts too much of his time on the other projects that he has."

Despite the lengthy development, Beyond Good & Evil 2 isn't something Ubisoft has forgotten about, and it's definitely a game that the company wants to release. "It's really a game that we've been working, we have worked on, and is a game that we want to do."
