F/A-18E
SUPER HORNET TAKES OFF IN NORTH AMERICA
Irvine,
California, March 17, 2000 — Interplay Entertainment Corp. (NASDAQ:IPLY)
announced today that F/A-18E Super Hornet(tm) has recently shipped in North
America. Developed by Digital Integration, published by Titus Software Corporation,
and distributed by Interplay Entertainment Corp., F/A-18E Super Hornet offers
the latest in military flight simulation.
This
state-of-the-art software was recently evaluated in Washington D.C. at the
Pentagon. And so impressed was the United States Navy with F/A-18E Super
Hornet, that they’ve been using it in conjunction
with a simulation machine as a recruitment
tool at airshows nationwide.
F/A-18E
Super Hornet for PC CD-ROM is one of the most advanced and realistic simulations
ever released. Based upon the newest and deadliest U.S. Navy fighter,
which is still in the testing phase, F/A-18E Super Hornet has already
won the accolade of ‘Best Jet Sim’ at 1999’s E3 show. The award was handed
out by the leading flight simulation and combat strategy internet site,
http://www.CombatSim.com .
"Flight
sim fans are in for quite an experience," said the game’s producer,
Eric Demilt. "The authenticity of Super
Hornet is second to none. And it features a
fully clickable cockpit, making it the first flight sim you can play
without touching the keyboard." F/A-18E
Super Hornet incorporates the tense and exciting atmosphere that is synonymous
with flying in real combat. Players can experience full air-to-air
and air-to-ground combat, flying head-to-head against the enemy in
a winner takes all situation. What’s more, the simulation feature breathtaking
cutting edge 3D visuals and visual 3D terrain including towns, bridges,
industrial facilities, rivers and roads modeled from satellite data.
Armchair pilots will also be able to relish the thrill of being
catapulted
skyward from the deck of the gaming world’s first fully interactive
carrier, as well as facing the ultimate challenge for any Navy pilot…
landing this awesome fighter on a runway barely larger than a tennis
court!
