Celebrity Deathmatch - PS2 - Preview

E3 2003- First Look

Hey, isn’t it about time you got a chance to beat the crap out of some of these people? Now’s your chance to go toe to toe in the ring with one of several celebs with Celebrity Deathmatch, a fighting game based on the hit MTV show of the same name. In the game, you take control of a claymation rendering of a real-life celebrity who willingly lent their likeness to the game. These celebrities include (but are not limited to) Marilyn Manson, Tommy Lee, Jerry Springer and Anna Nicole Smith. In order to defeat your opponents, you must use a myriad of moves at your disposal, each of which is unique to your specific character.

The game makes use of an aggression meter which allows you to perform a special move once it is filled. Anna Nicole Smith’s special move, for example, is a bunch of falling safes filled with cash will fall from the ceiling and squash your opponent. As the match progresses, the characters will bruise, bleed and otherwise show signs of damage. After enough damage has been dealt, you can finish off your opponent with a funny kill.

Celebrity Deathmatch features a full season mode, in which you play as one celeb for a season (6 episodes) and a create-a-celebrity mode, which allows you to make and fight your own celebrity. Celebrity Deathmatch hits shelves this fall.
