Transformers: War for Cybertron – High Moon Not Handling Wii/DS Versions, and a Look at Starscream

A bit of new information regarding the upcoming Transformers game, War for Cybertron, has emerged recently. Perhaps most notably, an exclusive interview conducted with Tformers.com (via GoNintendo) reveals what we had more or less suspected, that developer High Moon Studios won’t be handling the task of creating the Wii and DS versions of the game. However, just who would be taking care of this particular chore was left unmentioned.

It has also been mentioned that while you can choose which allegiance you would like to play as, the Decepticon campaign takes place first, culminating in a final battle with the mighty Omega Supreme, who we saw a the end of the teaser trailer. Incidentally, High Moon Studios “didn’t say no” when asked if the Goliath would be playable.

Over on Game Informer’s site, they’ve added profiles for Optimus Prime and Megatron, an art interview and gallery, and most recently, a profile of Starscream:

The first mission of the Decepticon campaign will chronicle the first meeting between Megatron and Starscream aboard a space station that orbits Cybertron. This dramatic encounter will culminate in one of the Decepticons defecting only to be replaced by an eager Starscream. Despite teaming up with the Decepticons, Starscream will make it clear that in his mind both Megatron and Optimus Prime are failing to keep the best interests of all of Cybertron in their minds.

This sounds in-character for the scheming Seeker, who has always seemed more loyal to the Decepticon cause than the one leading it. It has made for some rather interesting fiction in recent years, and hopefully High Moon’s take on it will be just as interesting.
