Fans of the popular Monkey Ball series will be happy to know that details regarding this anticipated title have emerged, following our insider report last year that the title was indeed in development. As expected, movement will be handled via the touch screen of the portable, in a manner similar to the recently released game, Pac’n Roll for the DS. That is, the stylus is used to indicate the direction of movement of the character.

Featuring over 100 stages from the previous games, Super Monkey Ball DS is said to be 60% complete. Furthermore, WiFi multiplayer has been confirmed to support two of the title’s six party mode games.

A hockey style mini-game be introduced, and the classic “Monkey Race” will return in the DS version. For the race, the D-Pad will be used for movement as the top screen will no longer display a map of the stage. Check back with us later as we bring the first images of this title to our media section.
