SEGA Announces Online-Enabled Bleach Sequel

Anime fans have been treated well on Wii. Between Dragon Ball Z and Bleach, they have already had a few options to get their fighting fix on Wii.

SEGA brought Bleach to Nintendo’s platform last October with Shattered Blade. Although the game received generally poor marks from critics, the company is giving the franchise another shot.

Only this time, the fight is going online.

Bleach is coming back to the Wii for a second go, and this time it’s got more than just gimmicky motion controls. SEGA has announced Bleach: Versus Crusade, a new Wii adaptation of the popular anime.

While details on the game are scarce, a teaser official site opened up by SEGA promises “multi battle action” gameplay in a free-roaming 3D environment. SEGA is including multiplayer options for two-player split-screen and even online play! — IGN

Versus Crusade is being developed by Treasure, the same team responsible for Blade of Fate, the critically acclaimed 2007 Bleach DS game. It is being planned for a winter release in Japan.
