Once buzz got underway for Mega Man 9, Capcom has been mysteriously vague about the release date for the eagerly-anticipated return of the classic Blue Bomber, only saying “September” is when it would be released. Of course, with 30 days, that estimate remains a bit more broad than some would like.
However, Achievement Hunter now claims to have the time of release for the title… well, the Xbox 360 version, at least. And unfortunately, it seems to have been put off until the far end of the month, Wednesday the 24th, in fact.
This gives Mega Man 2 plenty of time to hit the Virtual Console prior, at least. Meanwhile, we can surmise that the PlayStation Network will likely get the release the following day, and depending on how Nintendo wants to play it, we would probably see the WiiWare release on either Monday the 22nd (if they’re smart, as it gives them a full two days head-start), or Monday the 29th, in which they would lose 3 days to PSN and four to Xbox Live.
