After much anticipation, and in some cases, dread, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts finally arrived just in time for the holidays. And for some, it was a fun game, while others felt it abandoned what the Banjo-Kazooie series is all about.
While I don’t know how the sales are looking for the title, it was fairly-well received in a critical level. But as we all know, that’s not enough to ensure a sequel. And yet, a sequel is what this new rumor making the rounds supposes is on the way.
This piece comes from Tech World Wide, a site I’m not at all familiar with, and has but a short blurb:
As I was reading one of George Kelion’s posts which by the way is a Rare employee, I found out about Banjo-Fourie being in very early development. Could this be true or am i just seeing things, is Rare really developing a new Banjo Kazooie series. If they are they should really put an effort to it and make it better then the third series and push the max power of the 360’s graphics, and we would also like to see more quest and many other great stuff onto the game then building vehicles which had to much parts and got really frustrating and annoying. The reason that the game is still in early development is because the team has just came back from there Winter break, could Rare announce the game at E3 or X09? We just have to wait and see. This is great news to all of the Banjo fans out there. — Tech World Wide
I think this is definite “grain of salt” material, given the… well, let’s just say the nature of the writing, and the author’s tendency to refer to a single game as a “series.” The lack of a source beyond “a Rare employee said” doesn’t really help matters, either.
It could happen, but I wouldn’t bank on anything based on this. So if you see anyone bandying this one about, just give them a cookie, pat them on the head, and send them about their merry way.
