PS4 game releases for September 2014

I think it's safe to say September is the start of the "holiday season" for gamers. I mean, anytime you have one of the most-anticipated games of the year releasing (Destiny), you know it's a big month. What's crazy is it's not the only big game in September. There's also NHL 15, FIFA 15, Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor and more. So let's see what's on the ol' game release schedule for September 2014.

Velocity 2X – September 2, 2014

Velocity 2X is a sci-fi platformer and shoot 'em-up all rolled into one adventure. A sequel to Velocity Ultra, the game features puzzle-platforming action with shoot 'em-up gameplay. And what's more? It's going to be free on PS4 for anyone who is a PlayStation Plus member.

Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate – September 2, 2014

Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate

Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate is a re-release and sequel of Warriors Orochi 3 which continues from the original game's good ending. It offers 145 playable characters in a new storyline that "brings the heroes together again after the death of the Demon Snake as they are called upon by a mysterious stone to return to the chaotic din of battle." On PS4 specifically, the game is said to have improved graphics and lighting, among other enhancements.

Destiny – September 9, 2014

Destiny

The game you've all been waiting for — if you enjoy MMO shooters, that is. Destiny is the latest blockbuster from Bungie and it's easily one the most anticipated games of this year. With pre-orders on track to be the largest ever for a new IP, there's no denying people are excited. And based on the results from the beta tests last month, I'd say people are going to enjoy it.

NHL 15 – September 9, 2014

NHL 15

NHL 15 is said to have been built to harness the power of next-gen consoles. As such, the game features a new level of player likeness, intelligence and emotion, the most diverse and animated crowd of any sports game and an added level of control using the Superstar Skill Stick. A demo for the game is currently available now.

Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes – 2.0 Edition – September 23, 2014

Guardians of the Galaxy Disney Infinity Marvel Super Heroes

Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes – 2.0 Edition is, well, Disney Infinity on steroids. It's the same type of gameplay you loved back in 2013, but with… more!  I'm talking an improved Toy Box with preset templates, NPC workers that help build your world while you play in it, and interiors; new playsets including Marvel and Guardians of the Galaxy; and all-new characters including Iron Man, Thor, Spider-Man, Star-Lord, Tinker Bell, Merida, Maleficent, and many more.

Natural Doctrine – September 23, 2014

Natural Doctrine

Natural Doctrine is a turn-based role-playing game based on the concept of natural selection.

FIFA 15 – September 23, 2014

FIFA 15

The second EA Sports title of the month, FIFA 15, similarly as NHL 15, makes great strides in the emotional intelligence of players, presenation of the overall match, and control over your player. There's also been improvements made to the game's visuals.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor – September 30, 2014

Middle-earth Shadow of Mordor

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is Monolith Productions' third-person action game set in J.R.R. Tolkien's fantasy universe of Middle-earth. But this isn't The Lord of the Rings story you're probably used to. Instead, it centers on Talion, a valiant ranger whose family is slain right in front of him the night Sauron and his army return to Mordor, moments before his own life is taken. Talian, resurrected by a Spirit of vengeance and empowered with Wraith abilities, ventures into Mordor on a quest to destroy those who wronged him. Along the way, he'll learn the truth of the Spirit that compels him.

Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments – September 30, 2014

As one would expect from a game of this title, Sherlock Holmes: Crime & Punishments is a detective game that focuses heavily on investigation, with an emphasis on narration. There's lots of exploration and clue collecting, speaking to witnesses and suspects, and forming your own deductions and conclusions.

As you can see, September has a ton of games releasing. And you know what? There's plenty more on the horizon. That's why I made a handy dandy guide to help you with spending. Check out September's "must buy" games for PS4.
