Hudson Entertainment closes in face of Konami buy

Well, this is a shame all around. Last month Konami announced a buy out of Hudson Soft. This is an all encompassing, including the US branch of the company Hudson Entertainment. Unfortunately, like with any buyout, this means some people are going to lose their jobs. Today, Morgan Haro, the CEO of Hudson Entertainment announced that the entire Western branch of Hudson, that is, Hudson Entertainment, has been closed. All those jobs are gone.

As far as games go, there really isn’t any known figure of game titles that are now canceled, although Hudson has confirmed that any titles Hudson Entertainment was working on are now canceled. Looks like Bonk: Brink of Extinction is now, well, extinct. All in all, this is a major bummer, and hopefully we’ll find out the extent of damages to the company.
