Great News for THQ

THQ announces that earnings for its third financial quarter were 33 percent above last year’s. In addition, sales increased by 30 percent with a reported net income of $61.5 million. Earlier this year, THQ raised their net sales expectations for 2007 to one billion dollars. Currently at $475.5 million in net sales, THQ may be on there way to reaching that goal.

Playstation 2 titles accounted for 38 percent of sales with 360 and DS making up for about 12 percent each. Games such as WWE SmackDown! vs RAW 2007, Cars, Avatar and Spongebob got a nod from the company,

“Our success was driven by our Disney/Pixar, WWE, and Nickelodeon franchises, as well as outstanding results for our two newest owned intellectual properties, Saints Row and Company of Heroes”, says THQ president and CEO Brian Farrell.

For the future, THQ expects future releases Saints Row for PS3, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Supreme Commander and Titan Quest expansion to continue the trend in sales.
