Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Map Strategies – Plaza
Plaza is a map that takes place in, you guessed it, a plaza. This is the only night-themed map in the game much like Hanoi from the first Black Ops. Plaza is one of those maps when you wonder why there is a gunfight going on in the first place since it’s surrounded by water and has a dubstep room and some other fancy places. It seems like an exclusive club that just so happens to be the site of killing and death.
Map #9 Plaza
Back to the map itself, Plaza is mediocre. It’s a little harder to see enemies at night (unless you have a Target Finder of course) and the firefights seem to take place only in the middle of the map. Plaza is a completely symmetrical map that has a big middle area (dead center) that is between the two main buildings and is in perfect sniping range of the two symmetrical rooftops (the dotted lines on the map), which you will die a lot from. Then you have the fight to control the two rooftops, which leads to camping and kills from behind unless you have a Claymore or Bouncing Betty set down to protect yourself.
Basically if you control the rooftops you control the game. Simply have one teammate on the rooftop and the other guarding the ladder at each spot and you will control and dominate the map. It would take an extremely good long-distance shot to kill the sniper on the rooftop, which is why it’s easy to control the map.
I went Sniper Rifle for Plaza since I liked controlling the map. I also went with the Claymore to protect my back and the Shock Charge in order to provide a split second decoy if someone was able to get past said claymore. I also went with the Overkill Wildcard that let me use two primary weapons since running around with a Sniper isn’t ideal.
I picked Blind Eye so enemy A.I. in the air wouldn’t be able to detect me while I was on a rooftop and the Ballistics CPU for my XPR-50 reduces the weapons sway making it more deadly.
Primary – XPR-50
------------Attachments – Ballistics CPU
Secondary – Type 25
------------Attachments – Target Finder
Perk 1 – Blind Eye
Perk 2 – Cold Blooded
Perk 3 – Engineer
Lethal – Claymore
Tactical – Shock Charge
Wildcard – Overkill
The best Scorestreaks for Plaza include:
Sentry gun – Set this on one of the rooftops
UAV – Spot enemies easier while sniping
Care Package – Hope for the best
Hunter Killer – Easy to acquire, easy to get a kill
I didn’t like Plaza as much as some other people in my Xbox Live party, but it’s not a horrible map to play on. It definitely didn’t match the excitement of the other night map, Hanoi, mentioned earlier and doesn’t live up to most other Black Ops 2 maps either. It’s a mediocre map that’s fun to try and take over by using the rooftops to your advantage.
