Wii U game releases for March 2014

If you thought last month's Wii U offerings were disappointing, don't look below. It's painful. March is matching February's total of new games, but none seemingly have the clout that will move Wii U systems in the way Nintendo is probably hoping. Here's the "list" of Wii U games due out this month:

Cabela's Big Game Hunter: Pro Hunts – Wii U – March 25, 2014

Recently announced by Activision, Cabela's Big Game Hunter: Pro Hunts tasks you with taking down the world's biggest game with the world's foremost hunting experts as your guide. Described as the "most expansive" Cabela's game yet, Pro Hunts features expansive locations that are four times the size of any previous Big Game Hunter console game. Additionally, the game is said to have real-world environmental conditions including natural animal survival behaviors and more realistic conditions.

Shovel Knight – Wii U – March 31, 2014

Crowd funded through Kickstarter, Shovel Knight is developed by indie studio Yacht Club Games (comprised of former WayForward talent). The game is said to be a tribute to old-school 8-bit platformers. Rather than starring a sword-wielding hero however, Shovel Knight features a knight equipped with, well, a shovel. It's a comical take on the classic warrior epic and based on a demo we saw of the game back in December, it's a game for Wii U fans to get excited about.

Unfortunately, Cabela's Big Game Hunter: Pro Hunts and Shovel Knight are all Wii U fans can get excited about this month as they are the only major game releases for the console. On the bright side, the lack of games in March means you have some more time to finish up Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.
