What did you miss about video games today?  What were some of the gaming industry's most popular people tweeting about?  I'll give you 10 tweets I found awesome, informative, weird, funny, stupid, or whatever, and then I'll give some commentary on it.

First off, I didn't know AOL was still doing stuff.  Second, they operate like they're still in 1996.  The movie You've Got Mail was the last time they were relevant.  Anyways, ur+1 is like a fantasy football/baseball game where you draft a team of celebrities and earn point based on how much they are covered on AOL platforms.  What.  The.  Fu*k.  I don't know what the early stages of a stroke feel like, but I'm pretty sure I'm experiencing one right now.  The thought of Lindsey Lohan and Kim Kardashian striving for the first overall pick puts me into a state of panic I didn't know existed.

Like celebrities that are celebrities for no reason needed a game built around following them in the news.  What the hell AOL?  You stink of desperation, and I can't imagine anyone ever using this.  This isn't gaming, so don't call it that.

I love that a product that I pay money for and already features ads on its dashboards, is getting more advertisements!  I think Microsoft has this backwards.  Look at apps in the iOS app store.  Usually, a free version has ads; then, once you pay for the app, the ads go away.  Microsoft is going all Polish with Xbox Live and advertising.  Lock it up Microsoft!  You lock it up!

I don't really understand how this game is going to function, and the idea of handing a basketball to a kid near my 55 inch LED TV frightens me.  I'm not sure what someone was thinking when they created this game, but along this logic, I think there should be a Kinect FPS where you fire an actual hand gun at the screen.

Ugh... really?  Please tell me that Ghost Recon isn't using this in their marketing campaign. 

Coco on WhoSay

From the looks of those pics, she's definitely promoting this game.  I don't mind celebrities who actually play games talking about games, or even cosplaying for promotion (if it's just in good fun), but I don't think she knows a lot about gaming.  I could be wrong about Coco, but... ya know what?  I'm gonna stop here.  I'm kind of afraid of Ice-T and I don't want to say anything mean.

Wow Giantbomb — that's racist.  If it was a caucasian kid in the trailer I bet you wouldn't think that.  Here's the thing: I used to work with inner city kids.  Some of them have Xbox 360s, but not a single one of them had a Kinect or even wanted a Kinect at the youth center I worked at.  They could care less about the Kinect.  So who exactly is this game being marketed to?  Fans of High School Musical?

If there's one thing I learned from the whole Ocean Marketing thing, it's that you never mess with PAX.  Ever.  If PAX says we are jerks, then they're right.  We are jerks.  In all seriousness, we are indeed jerks.

You don't mean that the Wii U will have the same fate of the Wii of getting quality ports of third party titles, right?  I can't see developers going the extra mile to make use of the Wii U's tablet controller.  Instead, it'll just be a gimmick for most games or a new way to manage your inventory.  Jeff Wildman, I too see a trend beginning.

I love the Larry David chops part, because I can see Larry David trying to make conversation with these two famous actors — probably about something really uncomfortable.  Also, it made me think of this 8-bit version of the Curb Your Enthusiasm theme song.

Our Tweet of the Day goes to Manveer Heir, a senior designer on Mass Effect 3.  I like John Cusack, and I want to like The Raven, but it looks kinda bad.  A grittier version of That's So Raven would probably be just as good, and funnier to boot.  Manveer, maybe get some of your Mass Effect 3 writing buddies to write the script on it, make an excellent hour and thirty minutes of movie, and then destroy it in the last 10 minutes.
