Legend of Grimrock is as hard as a classic dungeon crawler gets. Thankfully, we're here to guide you throught the caverns and help you find the most important items. Keep checking back as we update the guide frequently.

Character Creation

 
At the beginning of a new game, you'll get a Dialogue box where you can choose to make your own characters - this is for the best since I think the defaults are not too great. So you will come to an extensive screen showing different traits and skills and abilities among many other things. I will give you an account of each character you ought to have in your party.
 
You have four prisoners in your team and each of them holds a position as follows -

Thee importance of those positions will be explained in the next section but for now, let's look at our characters -
 
Character 1 - Human
Position - 1
Class - Fighter
 
Make your basic points as follows -
 
Strength - 16
Dexterity - 10
Vitality - 14
Willpower - 10
 
Dexterity and Will power are of lesser use for a melee fighter so you ought to distribute all your points to Strength and Vitality.
 
 
Skills
 
Athletic
Armor
Mace or Axe or Sword
 
You have several skills but for this charater you ought to just use the four points you have now on One of the three weapons - Mace or Sword or Axe. I preferred a Sword. Then you have to distribute points for this character in both the Armor and Atletics department while playing the game. So you need to develop only three Skills for this guy. You will want the "Slash" power or any of the first powers you unlock by taking the weapon skill to ten points as soon as possible. Distribute all the four points to one of the Weapons  itself.
 
You can choose two traits to your character now. You ought to choose from these only because the others are not that great.

Personally I used Athletic and Healthy since you can get skill points and attack power and health by levelling inside the game itself.

Will power is extremely important and you will need a bit of strength and Vitality too.

This is a very tricky decision to make. If you really want to excel with your Mage then you need to choose Spellcraft first and then make a choice of only two magics. I chose Ice and Air and could not use my mage till the end of level two but he becomes better this way. So just distribute the points you have now to Air Magic and later in the game you will get several spells to choose from. You charater has empty spell slots as you upgrade his magics and you can see the scrolls in the game and learn the spells but now since you are following this walkthrough, just look at the List of Spells section below and as you upgrade any of your magics, cast the spell once from the list of spells and your charater will automatically learn the spell.
 
Example: If you take your air magic to four points right now, you will see that at four you have 
 
4: Spell??
 
It means your charater can learn a spell now corresponding to a low level air magic spell. Normally you will find a scroll in the game showin you the tile you need to select to get this spell but as soon as the game starts open your mage's magic tiles (right click on his empty hand in the lower right of the screen beside his pic) and choose the third tile on the first row which looks like a tong and chit the blue button to the right to cast the spell and your character learns it and you have a powerful spell at the beginning of the game itself.
 
You can choose two traits to your character now. You ought to choose from these only because the others are not that great.
 
Aura
Strong Mind
 
You can choose other if you wish. Athletic also helps on attack power.
 
 

Combat Tips and Maintaining your Team

 
1) The first thing you ought to know about your characters is the way weapons and items are equipped on them. Look at the bottom right of the screen and you will see the four characters according to the line up. Only the front
characters can melee attack and the two characters on the back can only do ranged attacks including casting spells. You should see a pickture of one prisoner with his two hands. You can drag anyweapon from the environment like a torch for example. Take a torch from the area around you by clicking on it and hold the button and drag the torch onto one of your character's hands and release the button. Now you have to put the weapon in the hand if you put it elsewhere on the pic then it goes into the inventory of your character. Likewise you can use shields and compass and bows and staffs and other stuff accordingly.
 
2) You can melee attack an enemy using only the prisoners in the front row. So make sure you have Fighter class ahead. To attack you can use a weapon which is eqipped on either of the character's hands - which hand does not matter then right click on the weapon to attack. If there is no weapon then the character can use bare hands. For Rouges or to use projectile weapons simple have them equipped and right click to project them.
 
3) Casting Spells with Mage -
 
Using magic to attack is a little bit different. Your mage has a set of nine magic symbols and each symbols and their combinations with other symbols produces a magical effect on the target. To use the symbols, just right click on the mage's empty hand or the hand with a wand or in between the hands to  open the symbol tiles, it looks like this -
 
Click on a symbol and click on the blue button to the right to cast the spell. All buttons do not work in the beginning since you need to have to have an empty slot for learning a spell you'll get this by upgrading one of the magics air, ice, ground or fire and you can see when a new slot is open like -

Now you can learn a spell corresponding to the level of your magic skill. Suppose you want to learn the following ice magic spell -
 
You can see on the bottom that need a specific level of ice magic to be able to cast this spell. So simply upgrade your ice magic level and use the respective combination of magic symbols to cast the spell.
 
NOTE: You don't really need to possess a scroll to cast a spell. For instance if you have your air magic upgraded to say 10 and have an empty slot open to learn a new air magic spell but you don't have the scroll then simple read the spells list below and use the corresponding symbol combination to cast the spell - this is a very easy way to get to know all the spell combinations and you can cast high level spells without obtaining their scrolls by just uprading one type of magic to max early in the game.
 
4) Food, Health and Sleep
 
Your character's can get hungry as they travell thru the dungeons. Their hunger level is shown in their screen - click on their pics to the bottom right of the screen to open their screen.
 
You can gather food from various sources in the game. Some of the enemies are animals which when killed will drop food for us. You can also collect food from the world - there is an abundance of food - you just need to remeber to feed your characters regulary without letting them starve. When your characters are starving you can see the pic of a small ham on their pic itself. Your characters cannot regenerate health if they are starving.
 
Your health can be replenished any time by sleeping. You can make your characters sleep by opening any one of their meny and clicking on the Zzz button on top. Sleeping has no affect on time but if you sleep with enemies around, they can disturb your sleep. Sleeping replenishes health and will power at a high rate. You can also replenish your health by drinking potions - you'll know about them later in the game. You can also get your characters to full health by using a lifestone.
 
NOTE: The only way to bring a dead character to life is to use a lifestone which looks like this -

 
The lifestone will bring back all dead prisoners to life and both and dead and alive ones will get full health and willpower.
 
5) Attacking and Evading tactics
 
The thing in this game is that the enemies can attack you with melee attacks only if they are in a box adjacent to where you are standing. They cannot attack you if they are diagonal, look at the illustration below..

They cannot attack you in the no places. And you can keep moving all the time. So if you keep moving left and right and stay diagonal or one tile away from them, melle attacks cannot hurt you and they move into a position where they can attack you. You can use this to your advantage by first attacking them and moving to another box. Then when they come beside you, attack them fast and move again. This way you can avoid enemie's attacks most of the time and also this is the primary tactic in the game. Moving around tactically will save you all the time and this is needed on a high scale for even the most common enemies later in the game. Ranged attackers can attack you when they are in a straight line ahead of you. So move to the side if they are in a straight line and make your way so that you come close to them and then attack them with your melle fighters to quickly kill them. If you prefer ranged combat then its your wish.

Level 1: Into The Dark

NOTE: Most of the interactable and important items are shown on the map above. No enemies are shown because I wanted to leave some suspence in the game. Minor objects are also not shown but I will mention everything in the walkthrough below so no need to worry.

No.1 (Red area)

Items list-

Look behind you and move to the wall shown with the diamond above - it's the left of the wall which is straight ahead of you. There's a cracked brick here which looks like this -

You will find cracked bricks like this throughout the game, you ought to click on them to interact. As soon as you click on the brick, the wall opens infront of you revealing a secret room, and you will find the LURKER BOOTS and SHURIKEN (weapons - best to equip them with your rogue).

Lurker Boots: You can put these boots on any of your character and it increases the evasion skill. The evasion skill allows your character to dodge enemy attack. Enemies will attack the prisoners in the front row so you ought to equip one of them with the boots for now.

Go towards the gate (portcullis) and look to it's right to see some lithoscript - writings on wall(stone). It's a puzzle and it's asking you to pick up the torch to the left of the cullis. Click on it and place in the hands of one of your front prisoners - they can use this as a weapon when you right click on the hand which is holding the weapon. The cullis is now open, move ahead and you will come to another portcullis, use the cahin to it's right to open it and move ahead. There's PEASANT'S TUNIC and PEASANT'S BREECHES to the left near the end (shown above as a common item). Move on and you will see a MACE inside the wall ahead, it's best if your minotaur or any of the front character has this. Go to the gate and pull the lever to the right to open the cullis.

No.2 (Pink area)

Important Items list-

1) Brass Key
2) Iron Key

Shortly you will see a white pressure plate on the ground. Throw something on it to open the door, go in and pick up the BRASS KEY. Take it and move to the next place. Use your Brass Key here in the keyhole to the right of the door to open it. Turn left ahead and read the script on the wall which hints at a loose rock (hidden switch). There's a cracked rock like the one we saw in the first place where we opened the secret room. The door opens revealing an IRON KEY inside. Use this key in the keyhole beside the next door and move ahead.

No.3 (Blue area)

NOTE: To replenish the health of your characters, you can sleep anywhere in the dungeon. Just make sure there are no enemies nearby or they disturb you and attack.

Move ahead and look to the left and you will see a giant snail which is your first enemy.

NOTE: All enemy's in the game move at you tile by tile. So, you can actually move back while they come at you - they can only melee attack if you are in the tile adjacent to theirs - not diagonl - just adjacent. So you can move to your left or right when there's an enemy infront of you and it will haev to move into the tile to it's left or right to come into an Adjacent Tile. Now, Just attack an enemy when it come in your adjacent tile and move away before it can attack you. Keep repeating this - it is the most important tactic in the entire game.

You can attack it with melee with your front prisoners and your back prisoners can throw projectiles or cast spells. Move to where the snail was and go on, pick up the LEATHER BOOTS, LEATHER PANTS, and KNIFE. Go back and pull the lever beside the door to open it. You will face two more snails shortly, kill them again and they drop some snail food which you need so pick up everything they drop. Move ahead and go to the right path and you will soon find PITROOT BREAD. Pull the chain next to the gate, read the script on the wall. Now, if you fall into the pit, you can just come back to this area. Just throw something across the pit onto the pressure plate which closes the pit. Move ahead and pick up the IRON KEY. As you go ahead, you will come to see your first DEMON HEAD

No.4 (Green area)

Go to it and read the script on the wall. Seems that the head is missing a couple of things. Turn back and go to the right, pull the lever and walk across the path where you come to snails. There are more snails behind a portcullis but just go to the left and kill the snails here. Pick up the SCROLL OF FIREBURST, LOINCLOTH and TATTERED CLOAK. Go back to where you saw the snails behind the gate and stand on the pressure plates in front of the gate. Kill the two Snails and go in. You will see a blue gem on the ground - take it and look on the wall to the right where you see a brick switch which can be pushed inside. Place something on the pressure plate in front of the gate and push the brick in and the cullis opens. Go back to the Demon's Head and place the gem in one of the eye slots. Go back and move left and be prepared for more enemies.

You will fight four Herders here, kill all of them. Go to the right side and take the TAR BREAD and pull the lever here which opens the portcullis we saw to the left as we came here. Go in and pick up the SECOND BLUE GEM. You will see a loose brick on the wall to the right here which will open a secret room just near the lever we used before. Go there and pick up the DAGGER and TAR BREAD and CAVE NETTLE. Go back to the demon head and again, be prepared for a new kind of enemy before you place the gem.

No.5 (Yellow area)

Item List-

As soon as you place the second gem, the door to the left opens revealing a Legionnaire. It's just a common enemy. Kill it and pick up the LEGIONNAIRE SPEAR and LEGIONNAIRE SHIELD, now go thru the door. Go on and you will come to a Stylish Bronze Gate. You will find Brone Gates throughout each level of the dungeon - they have very powerful items behind them. I marked the two lost stones (Hidden Switch) in the map. One is to the right of the door and on part of the wall to the right of the wall opposite to the door. Click on them both and the Gate opens, pick up the WHITEWOOD WAND inside. Go on the path and you will come to a large blue glowing crystal. This is a lifestone which will revive dead characters and give everyone full health and willpower. The lifestones get active again after one minute and you can use them any number of times. Move along and pick up the SCROLL OF POISON CLOUD. Which is in the wall near the stairs. You will go down to the next level of the game if you go down the stairs and can come back anytime to this level.

No.1 (Red Area)

Go left as you start and pull the lever and go into the room. Kill the Snail and pick up the PEASANT'S CAP in this room (shown under common on the map). Go back outside and walk along the path and you will face another snail here. Go along and you will come to a Door with a keyhole to your left side. We need to Go thru this door later so remember this. Move to the next door and go in. Pick up the DOUBLET and SILK HOSE here.
 
Go back out and to the next place and go into the room by pulling the chains. There are two Herders and two poison spitting Herders. The poison spitters are very quick so be careful and keep moving. There's a MACHETE (you should equip this on one of your fighters if they have the Sword skill upgraded) an IRON KEY and a COMPASS here. The compass if held in any of your character's hands points to the exit of each level you are in. Go back to the locked door earlier and use the key to go thru it.
 
No.2 (Pink Area)

NOTE: The bone amulet you obtain in this level is required in a later level in the game, so it may seem useless but still, keep it with you so that you can use it later.
 
You will come to a door with a lever but there's also some script on the wall. Read it and put a burning torch into the torch holder to the left and the wall to the right opens revealing a secret. You can pick up the IRON BASINET here. Go to the door and pull the lever and go thru. There's a snail to kill here and also You can reach into the closed cell block to your left and take the BRASS KEY and SANDMOLE HIDE VEST. Go to the next door and open it, you should see a portcullis with pressure plates on either side. Now, there's also a secret door nearby - the location is marked on the map above as Hidden Switch. This opens the cell which you took the Key from and you can go in and pick up the POISON ARROWS from here. Go back and out somethings on both the plates and go in. You'll face a four winged crow-bat now, let's just call it a large bat. Kill it and you will see a lifestone behind a portcullis ahead. Go to the right and read the inscription on the wall. Place a weapon in the place in the wall and the door behind you opens. Kill the two snails here and go in and pick up the IRON KEY, there's a Hidden Switch here too shown in the pic above which opens the wall nearby where you can take POINTY SHOES.
 
Go back and down the next right. Go thru the next gate and you will come to a portal behind a portcullis to the left and if you read the script to the right of the door ahead, you'll know that the next area cannot be any good. Go in and three sections of the wall come down revealing three Legionnaire. Kill all of them - just keep moving to avoid being cornered. After you kill them go to each of the places they came from and pull the lever in each place to open the gate we came thru. You can also pick up TATTERED CLOAK, SCROLL OF ICE SHARDS and a BONE AMULET. Go thru the cullis and into the portal to the right and you come to a place with three cells to the left and right. There's a switch on the wall to the right of the first cell. Use it twice and a Legionnaire comes at you. Kill it and use the switch again twice and a sack comes out near where the Legionnaire showed. Inside the sack is a IRON KEY we need. After that go back put the portal and to topside again. Go to the cullis where you saw the lifestone behind it and use the two keys you have to get into the room with the stone.
 
No.3 (Blue Area)

Ahead of the Lifestone is a cullis with two keyholes and there's two paths to the left and right on the Lifestone. Go to the left room and kill the enemies here. Go all the way in and you will see a Hidden Button on the wall to the right of the torch which opens a wall to the right. Go to the newly opened place and hit the switch here to open another wall to the right. Go there and kill the Giant Bat and hit the switch here and go back to the first switch. You'll see that a wall to the left opened up. Take the BRASS KEY and go back into the central place and to the right now. In here you will see a portal but it will not take you anywhere - you just keep coming back here. Face the wall opposite to the portal and you see a Hidden Switch. Hit it and just walk back like that because the switch kills the portal for a few seconds. You should now come to a trap door with a pressure plate across it, thrwo something ahead and move across. Take the BRASS KEY, AXE and the CAVE NETTLE here and go back all the way to the Lifestone and use the two keys to opend the cullis and go into the portal to reach the next section of this level.
 
No.4 (Green Area)

Pick up the THROWING KNIFE and SCROLL OF POISON BOLT from the wall nearby and move along. There's a Hidden switch to the left on the wall which opens the door ahead, it's also shown on the map above. Kill the Herders and as you move, you'll come to a left and right paths. Go left and Kill the enemies here and pick up the BRASS KEY and use the lever and go back to the previous room and you can see that a wall opened to the right, tkae the PHALANX HELMET and TAR BREAD from here and go down the right path now and pick up the GRIM CAP here. Use the key now on the wall and before you go in here, go back to the previous room and hit the Hidden Switch on the southern end - it's shown on the map above, go to the opened place and take the GOLDEN CHALICE which is the first treasure.. go thru the opened place. You will shortly come to a lever straight ahead which opens a path to the previous area of the dungeon - it's just a shortcut. For now, go back and left you should see a door with a pressure plate ahead and a legionnaire behind the cullis.
 
No.5 (Yellow Area)

Move in and kill the enemy and go further in. You will see a Demon head to the right, for now move ahead and you will see a portcullis to the left but still move ahead and you have to kill four Legionnaires at the same time, just fight like you would fight a singlt guy but keep moving frequently. Go to the end and hit the Hidden Switch on the right wall. Now, go into the opened secret door and take the WOODEN BOX. Go to the Demon Head and read the script. Stand on the plate here facing the Demon for a minute - you need to face the Demon and the Bornze Gate opens. Kill the Legionnaires inside and take the FIRE BOMBS. Go to the cullis with the chain and open it and go to the end of this palce and you will find a SACK in the wall which has useful things. Take out the Torch from the wall and this opens the gate to the next level.

LEVEL 3 - PILLARS OF LIGHT

To Open the gate ahead, you need to place three Torches on the three sides of the central pillar. Go thru the door and pick up the FROST BOMB and kill the Crowern here. There's an Archer ahead so be careful. As you go further, you will come to a place with two pits ahead of you. If you fall into the pits, you will come to an area which has a SKULL. If you have a Minotaur with the "Head Hunter" ability then take it since it will increase all attacks by 3 points. There's a snail to fight here and a lever too which when pulled will open a portal nearby leading back upside.
 
Walk to the left of the pit and go to the other side and face the pits. Now, there is a pillar just to the right of the pit, you will find a brick switch here which opens the wall directly opposite to the closed door which has the pits in front of it. Go there and pick up the SHURIKEN. There's another loose  brick on on the left wall, click it to open the wall ahead which leads into the pits. Throw something across into the room ahead and the pits get closed. You can pick up the SHORTBOW and SHORTHEAD ARROWS.
 
Now go along the path to the left and you will come to a door with a key hole and another gate which a switch to the left. As you step into the room, the plates will unlock several gates inside the room which have Legionnaires behind them. They are not in a group and can corner you very easily. It's best to concentrate on one at a time. You can make all of them fall into the pit that opens when someone walks on the second pressure plate.
 
There's a BRASS KEY in the open cell ahead of you, SHURIKEN in the cell to the right, And EMPTY POTION GLASS to the left and the lever in the cell ahead will open a secret wall just to the right of the gate you entered this area from. Take the key to the other door outside and use it and go ahead.

Go left and pick up the NOTE. Go back and right and you will come to a door. Go thru and you'll come to a lifestone to the left, two pits ahead. There's a large spider in the area to the right. If you fall into the pits then you can pick up LEATHER GREAVES. Go along the path and you will come to another gate. Open it and you'll be in an area where there are two pits. The first pit has a switch to it's left and the other pit has a loosed brick which can only be reached if the pit was closed. The first switch closes the pit so run there hit the switch and get back. This opens a door across the first pit with a portal inside. Go into the portal and you will get in a place where you can pick up a TOME OF HEALTH and SHURIKEN. After you get back just fall into the pits and you come to a new area. There's a pressure plate which opens the gate nearby leading to a portal which takes you back topside. Go forward from here and you'll see a gate to the left. You can take anything and place it on the plates thru the gate.Go to the right and you should be able to see a switch which shuts down the portal behind the gate ahead. Put in another thing on the plate and go thru. Take the SERPENT BRACES. Go back thru the portal and pass thru the gate into the next area.
 
You will see two portals in the room ahead which are opposite to each other and move constantly in clockwise direction. First, go to the tile to the right of the pit and look across, throw something across onto the plate and this will close the pit. Then walk onto the closed pit and stay here. Now, the moment a portal passes the Pressure Plate ahead, go right, throw something and come back onto the closed pit. Now Stick to the door which is opening and go in. Once inside, just pull the lever which opens the gate ahead leading to the pressure plate which you used to close the pit in the middle of the room. If you pick up the thing you threw on the plate then you will see that the next pit gate far ahead will close allowing you to go to the bronze gate. We'll open it later but for now, go back and along the path. If you go right, you will come to spider eggs. Just destroy them and pick up the BROADHEAD ARROWS. Now move to the next place and you will come to a door with two keyholes to the left and right.
 
Ignore this door for now and go right from here you will come to another branched path - right or straight. Go straight and destroy the spider eggs. You will come to a cell with a closed pit inside. There's a switch to the left of the pit and an inscription on the wall close-by. Read the inscription, now go to the gate and place something on top of the pit. Hit the switch and you will open the pit, making the thing placed on it to fall below. A IRON KEY and SILK HOSE fall down. If you again sacrifice the pants, you will get NOMAD MITTENS. Now since we have the first key, go back and make the turn we didn't take earlier. You'll come to a gate with a chain to the right, there are four spiders inside here.
 
Inside, you will find a LONGSWORD and the next IRON KEY after you get rid of the eggs, there's also a BLOODDROP BLOSSOM  in this room to the left of the door. Go to the door with the two keyholes and open it now.
 
You'll come to a place which has three torch holders on the central pillar and one on either side of the room. If you place two burning torches on the sides of the room then the wall opens nearby to the left leading you to the lever which opens the Bronze Gate. Go back to the gate using the same path you came here and take the HUNTSMAN CLOAK. Go back to the room and go straight.

Take a left and you'll come to some TARBREAD and a Shuriken, go back and down the other way. The gate which has a button switch on the pillar to the right, this opens the second gate behind the gate nearby. There's a spider egg to the left, even if you destroy it and the path is clear, you will not be able to make it to the open gate since it closes soon. Now, There is another switch on the wall to the immediate right of the first gate. This opens a wall ahead revealing a spider and a shorter path to the gate ahead. Kill the spider, hit the button switch and go thru the gate.
 
You'll come to a couple of spider and eggs and also a gate with a chain. Go thru and when you can go left or right, go right and all the way to the end to pick up a BOILED CRAG BEETLE and a GRIM CAP. Go back and down the path we didn't take earlier and straight (do not turn left yet). You'll find a WOODEN BOX in the end room. After you get it, go back and down the left we missed, kill any spiders and pick up the ROUND SHIELD which is to the left at the end of the path and proceed right. Now, there is a NOTE here before the eggs, after picking it up, turn behind you and a spider attacks. Kill it and pick up the GOLD KEY. You must have seen two gates to the left and the right. Both lead to a room filled with spiders.

Go to one gate, open it and kill a spider and close it and revive yourself by sleeping or anything. Go in and kill the rest of the spiders and go thru the next door. You'll come into a room with a hole to the left and pressure plate before the gate which makes a Demon Head behind the gate spit spectral energy. You need to be quick, stand on the plate and place something on the plate behind the gate and move to the right so that the energy goes into the hole making the door open. Move along and you will come to another NOTE and a GRIM CAP. There's a lever to the right which closes one of the pits to the left so that you can go to the Lifestone. The door here is opened by inserting the gold key to its left. There's RING BOOTS and a KNOFFER MACE in the room. Use the lifestone if you  need to and go down the stairs into the next level. Take the stairs to the next level.

As you come to the Archives, you'll see a pressure plate just infront of the open gate ahead. The moment you step on it, two Spore Herders appear. Always move while fighiting and after you take one down, the other should not be a problem. One of them drops an IRON KEY which is used on the gate ahead. In the next place you will find a SCROLL which has a formula for energy restore and an EMPTY FLASK and a GRIM CAP. Move ahead and you come to a door, go in. Kill the Archers here and then look at all four portals around the room and read the scripts beside them. Let's do this in order.

You'll see a hole in the wall to the right of the portcullis and a Demon's Head opposite. There's a button on the wall to the left of the door which opens the portcullis and also makes the Demon Head spit energy which when goes into the hole will shut the gate ahead. So, hit the button and walk right so that the energy hit us instead of going into the hole.
 
Go in and don't kill any Legionnaires here, look around and you will see three closed cells. You need to lure a legionnaire in each cell. The two cells in the center have their opening switches to their left of the portcullis and the last cell has it's switch on the wall to the left. Just stand behind the cells to lure the three in and after they are captured, the door ahead opens, there may be more Legionnaires to kill still. You can pick up three BLOODDROP BLOSSOMS around this area, then go thru the gate and pick up the SCROLL on the ground in the end and head into the portal.

Move in and stand on the pressure plate ahead which will make a portal appear before you briefly. When the portal appears, throw something in it to make that thing drop on the pressure plate which is ahead to the left. This will make the pits close. If you fall into the pits you'll get to another area. You can also use the same portal here to get teleported to the room nearby and take the BOOK OF INFINTE WISDOM. Use the portal in this room and get back and walk across the pits and keep going. You will come to a pressure plate here which makes the pits infront of you close one by one but you need to move as soon as the pit's start closing since they will open again. To the right of the second pit is a Switch which opens a wall ahead to the right, go there and pick up the CHITIN HELMET. You will fall into the pit so just come back to this place thru the portal. and go all the wall across crossing all the pits and just as you come to the other side, if there's a Crowern, cast a spell on it or hit it. Look to the left from the last third tile and you will see a pressure plate, throw something on it to open the gate ahead and go thru. Go thru the next door and pick up the SCROLL in the end and go thru the portal and choose your next area.

Kill the Crowern and we have another puzzle. Walk on the plate here to open the door then step onto the next plate and then go to the plate on the right. There's a button here which opens a secret wall in the room we just came from. Take the VENOM EDGE from there and get back to the first tile again.

2-3-2-1-2-1-walk forward onto the closed pit and then back to-1-2-3-2-1 and all pit doors are closed. Pick up the IRON KEY here and open the door.
 
If you fall into the pits you can take SLIME BELLS, kill the enemies here and take the portaland come back to this place. Use the key on the door and go thru. Kill the legionnaire here and you will come to a place to the right of the main path. Go in and look at the left wall. There's a loose brick here but save it for later. Go ahead out of this place and pick up the SCROLL but do not go into the portal yet. Look to the left and you will see a Button on the wall. The loose brick you saw will close the two pit doors that lead to the Switch and the Switch shuts the portal which is on the pit in the middle. Do this qucikly and fall into the pit and take the GEAR KEY which opens the Bronze Gate in the main area, pull the lever and go thru the portal to the main area and before you choose the next portal go to the bornze gate which is ahead to the left. Use your key on it and take the CHITIN GREAVES and get to the next portal.

As soon as you take a step in this room, the walls to the left and right open. Go to the left wall and kill the legionnaire or Archer here and there's another Archer ahead. Look back and you should see a Legionnaire who came from the other wall that opened. Now, move ahead and kill the two sets of dual archers. You should have spotted the pressure plate with food on it. Take the food so that there is no pressure on the plate. This closes the first of the three pits which we saw when we first came into this area.
 
Turn back and go right all the way and you will come to another plate with a rock on it, take the rock and go back to the first plate and now go into the other lane. You should find a NOTE here. Move along this path all the way till you come to a gate with legionnaires behind it and they are standing on the last plate. Pull the lever opposite to them and kill all of them. Take the SHURIKEN from the plate and this closes all of the gate. There's a Switch to the right of this room which opens the wall revealing a legionnarie and a Secret - a SACK. Go back to the beginning of this area and cross all three closed pits and open the gate here. Move thru and kill any Crowern here and pick up the SCROLL from the ground and walk into the portal. You ought to have all the scrolls now.

You need to put one scroll inside each pillar which are in the center of the room according to what's written on the pillar and the scrolls. The correct orders are -

After you put in all the scrolls, two paths open up to the left and right and have minor items in them including some scavengers. Kill them and go to the right path and pull the lever here - this level opens a secret wall back on the third level. Here a pic showing where -
 
Go there and pick up the TAR BREAD from the ground and then look on the wall to the right which has a loose brick. Use it to open a wall to the right which reveal stairs to the bottom again. Go down there and you will see a demon head, to the left is a door and when you go thru, you will come into a room full of green goo. They are very dangerouns and you ought to take on one at a time. Lure them out of the area and into the lane where the demon head is since they can gang up on you inside if you are not careful. Destroy all the goo and in the left side is a GOLDEN DIETY FIGURINE - one of the Treasures. To the right is a push brick button which opens a wall to the left. Go in to find a GREEN GEM. Take this gem to the demon head and put it in it's mouth and the door opens. Pick up the CROSSBOW inside and go back to level four.
 
Now, go thru the opened door far ahead and turn right to see a lifestone. Pick up the FROST BOMBS and SCROLL OF FROST BITE and if you stick around for long, some Scavangers start attacking you. Save here and kill them, go down the stairs to the next level before more come bugs come in.
 
 

LEVEL 5 - HALLWAYS

The room to the left has a SCROLL OF FIRESHIELD and a couple of CROSSBOW QUARREL. Go into the room to the bottom right on the map as shown above where the Hidden Switches are. The first Hidden Switch is on the wall to the right and this opens the section of wall leading ahead where you can see the second switch to the left. In the room ahead pick up the SCALED CLOAK, IRON KEY and WOODEN BOX and return to the main hall. Use the key on the portcullis to the left side and go in. There's a pit ahead and if you jump into the pit you come into an empty room with a note. Come back thru the portal and go left, you can see a Dragon Statue to the left and to the right ahead is a door which needs a key. 
 
Go into the room with the Dragon Statue and pick up the two PITROOT BREAD from the walls to the left and right. There's a SHURIKEN in the area to the right. Now go into the room behind the dragon and you come to a place with two button to the right of the one - one on the wall to thr right of the door and the other on the wall opposite to the door and a lever too. Let's save them for later and now go into the area to the right and all you see it pits. If by any chance you fall in, you come to a place where you see a Hidden Switch on the wall to the right of the portal which opens two sections of the wall ahead showing a Wyvern and a Crowern. Kill them and pick up the Fire and Lightning bombs and go back thru the portal.
 
Now in this are you see two buttons to the right hit them accoring to the following combination - 
 
right, left, right and wal across the closed pits and hit the button that's here. Go back and hit Right the left and again walk across to the other button and hit it to make a path to the right where you can take an IRON KEY. Kill the Wyvern and Crowern and hit the button here to go back. Hit the left button to close the pit so you can go into the wall opened by the Wyvern and read the NOTE here. Now, take the BLOODDROP BLOSSOM to the left of the first pair of buttons and go back to the previous room. Consider the left and right buttons here and also the lever. Here's the sequence to open the door here -
 
L = Left Button

12 = Pull lever down and Up again - so LR12 means hit left button then right button and then pull the lever down and up again.

Go in and take the CONJURER'S HAT and HERDER CAP. Take the key to the close door earlier across the dragon statue and go in.

Kill the Wyvern and Crowern here and hit the hidden button to the left and take the FIST DAGGER from the secret wall. and go right where you come to a lifestone. There's a Crab behind the portcullis to the left here. Go across all the way till you get to the section where you can see two important items on the map above. There's a note here that read something about resting in the palce where the Dragons Gaze. Now, we already came across one dragon earlier and the arrow on the map points to where this dragon was Gazing. The second dragon comes later but you can go to the place pointed by the two arrows and sleep there to open the Iron Gate behind which you can find the LURKER VEST. If you go left all the way from where you rested, you can take the RINGED GREAVES. Now in the area with the iron door you can see a locked portculls with a rather good looking keyhole. There's another keyhole inside the portculls. Further down the hall you can go to the Chamber of Pits to the left so go there first.

If by any chance you fall in, you come to a place where you need to fight two archers, one legionnaire and a group of four legionnaire and pick up the various food items around here and use the stairs to get back to level 5. Pull the lever here and go back into the room of pits. There's a button on the right and a Lever too. The button makes the pits ahead of you close one by one so that you can cross over and the lever controls the direction in which the pits close - from you towards the cullis gate on the other side or back wards. And look at the map above where you see a hidden switch and an important item. The hidden switch closes the pit to the important item and you can walk in to get the BRACES OF FORTITUDE and go back and towards the cullis gate. Go in and kill the Crab and go further in and pick up the ORNATE KEY and kill everything thing. The path back is closed because a wall came down so just place something in the place where you took the Ornate Key from and the wall opens and you can use the lever and switch to get across the pits and back to the main hall and now go into the Deserted Tunnels ahead.

Go in and you come to a door to the right, just inside the area to the left is a lever and further inside to the left is a Pressure Plate. Use the lever first and throw something on the plate and go thru the door which is now open (it'll stay open only for a few seconds). Read the script on the wall to the left - it just means you can't use the same door back so we need to find another way back. This area is full of enemies and you fight two Crabs and a couple of Herders and Poison Herders and some mini Herders too. The important item marked to the right is a WARHAMMER. The other important item inside the room is RING GAUNLETS and also TAR BREAD. You can find MILKRED opposite to the lane which you came in from. Go to the other door on top and go in and you can see the second Dragon Statue here. Pick up the ORNATE KEY here and move to the left where you see a lever and a locked gate. Pull the lever and from you left, the wall opens revealing two Archers, kill them and move ahead and you again come to the first lever you used. Use it and rush back to the locked gate and take the HUNTSMAN CLOAK and FROST ARROWS here and go back to the main hall and use the two Ornate Keys and go down to the next level.

LEVEL 6 - TRAPPED

 
NOTE: If you have any Frost Bombs then do not use them on any enemy since we need atleast one to progress this level.

To enter into the hall you need to step on the Pressure Plate infront of the open portcullis. As soon as you do that - you are ofcially trapped and have nowhere to run. There are atleast five Giant Spiders and an Ogre lurking around in the dark here. Start killing them quicly and if you want a narrower area to take them on, the go right and into any room there. Remember to kill the Ogre since it drops a SACK and a GOLD KEY.
 
From the gate, move left and take the first left. The important item shown on the map above is a CUTLASS. Go back out and left again and you can read the script on the wall that says Walkabout. Now, you can see that I marked three hidden switches on the map above but there really are no switches here. If you pass these areas - the first is near a grate on the ground you hear a distinct click sound. Follow the path from one click to the next and after a few rounds a Legionnaire shows near the second click area. Kill him and repeat a few more times and a SACK appears near the second click are and we are done with walking. Go back to the gate and to the right and the common item shown above is a MILKREED.

Enter the pink area and you can read near the door that this place is - Sequencis. Kill the Crabs here and you should be able to see a LIFESTONE past the gate to the right but you need a round key to get there. Make you way all the way in and you see a portal. The portal takes you to three more areas. One has a Demon head and a Hidden Switch to the left which makes the Head spit poison gas. Another area has a Lever in front and you need to first pull the lever and go to the opened place in the next area where you can pick up a ROUND KEY. You can use this Round Key to open the gate to the Lifestone but if you look back you need more round keys. In the main hall again a new secret wall opens to the right where you can pick up FIRE BOMBS.

Go to the blue area which is to the right from Walkabout and go in all the way to the left side and fight you way past the numerous Snails here. 
 
Maze of Madness
You come into a place that reads - Maze of Madness. It really isn't that bad. First walk left on the path where there are no portals and hit the hidden switch here and go back to the entrance to this place and walk to the right most portal. Go in and then walk back, the walk left and then you should be at a place where there are no portals to your right and you can go in and pick up the ROUND KEY here, the switch earlier closes a portal that would have blocked our way to the switch. Now go back and into the green area.

Hunted Halls
You are in the Haunted Halls and this place has undead crawling all over it. Kill them all and hit the hidden switch ahead to open the wall to the left from where you can take RING BOOTS and HEAVY SHIELD. The common item shown is a Shuriken. The other hidden switch below opens a wall past the Pressure Place which is at the end and you can pick up the FROSTBITE NECKLACE there. Now, lure a Legionnaire onto the pressure place that's here and throw a frostbomb on him when he is over the place, this make a wall open to the left, go in and kill the undead here and pick up the ROUND KEY, CAVE NETTLE, and BLOODDROP BLOSSOM. Now we have all the round keys we need to get to the
next level but we need to do something else now.

Go down right from the entrance to this level and you come to a door to the right. You should see a crab inside, kill it and go in and you also see a pit to the left but first pick up the FIRE BOMBS here. Fall into the pit and you come to this area -

 
The common items here to the left are PEASANT'S BREECHES and SANDALS, you can find a SCROLL below which says Westmost. The important thing here is a WOODEN BOX which is in the rightmost lane. You should also come to a wooden door - we'll open it later. For now, go to the pit and you should see a portal back up, but jump into the pit and you come here -
 
Pick up the BOILED CRAG BEETLE and the BAKED MAGGOT. Go to the room ahead and pick up the FROST BOMBS from the shelf to the right. If you place something on the pressure plate then the metal door to the left opens and you need to kill a lot of Scavengers. Fight with them in the narrow path between  where you pick up the foor and the bombs. Go in the place they were at and look around. Go back up thru the portal and then up again back to level 6. Go into the room to the left and kill the Crab here. If you fall down the pit here, you can take LURKER PANTS and SHURIKEN and you are behind the wooden door which you saw earlier. Go out and back to level 6 and go into the area past the pit and you are in a very narrow lane. There's a Hidden Switch which opens the wall to the right. If you walk onto the pressure plate ahead, you trigger the demon's head which starts spitting fire balls. You can walk into the opened section of the wall to avoid the balls but there are two important things ahead - FIREBLADE and SCROLL OF FIREBALL

After getting the scroll, learn the spell and head out just outside the portcullis or Mage's Entrance and look to the left to see a Demon's Head. If you throw something at it the head shoots a fireball at you. Shoot a fireball at it and the pit ahead closes. Move all the way inside and you come to a room with two fire wraiths and lots of pits. Kill the Wraiths and go to the left of this place from where you entered, look at the numbers on the map above, there are switches where the numbers are and afer closing the third switch, just walk left and pick up the ROUND KEY. Then take out the torch here and the pit to the right closes allowing you to move ahead. Go back to the first button and now push all of them and a secret wall opens. Kill the wriath and pick up the SWORD OF NEX and RING ARMOUR.

Before going back out, look into the map and look at the left most pit. It's marked as a hidden button above on the map but there is no button, just jump into the pit and you come to the Golden Grave. The gate opens ahead and you need to kill the Crab before it kills you, then go inside and grab the CROWN OF KINGS treasure.
 
Go to the very beginning of this place where the Demon Head is (I asked you to ignore the hidden switch earlier). Go straight from the demon head and at the end, look left, here's the pic of the hidden switch -

 
 
Hit it and go down the stairs. Now, before you head inside be warned that this is the toughest fight you have faced till now and also that it will be the one of the toughest in the fights to come. So understand the severity of the situation. If you have a fighter with sword mastery then use him - equip the sword of Nex. If there's no fighter with the sword mastery then choose another fighter - your best one, he should have a mix of both dexterity and attack power - use your best armour on this guy and make as many health potions as you can and put this with this same guy, if you have any bombs now's the time to use them. Head down and you fight atleast about three dozen Scavengers around you - think fast. After killing all of them, look at the pic below -

 
(Fighter's Challenge)
There's a hidden switch on the wall to the left near the middle of the room which opens a secret wall and you can take the ANCIENT APPARATUS treasure. There's a golden key on the corner of the room. Use it on the gate and take the SHIELD OF VALOUR. A portal should have opened behind in you in the center of the room, take it and go back to level 6.
 
Get back to the place with the lifestone.

Walk past the life stone and use the two round keys and go left ahead into the room of treasures. Use your Golden Key on any one room to get either a CROSSBOW or FIRE TOME or EMPTY FLASK, CAVE NETTLE, TAR BEAD, BLOODDROP BLOSSOMS. Go back out and you see an Iron Door with a round keyhole. Use your round key here and go in and pick up the CHITIN ARMOUR. Now, head on to level 7.

LEVEL 7: ANCIENT CHAMBERS

Firstly, this whole level revolves around mazes and puzzles. That being said, you first need to kill all of the Slime in this area, you will come across four doors, two to the room to the left and two ahead. After killing all the slime go to the first room to the left and pick up the TAR BEAD and GRIM CAP. The other room ahead has a TATTERED CLOAK and a NOTE below the cloak. To open a secret wall, first open all the four doors and close the first door to the left as you come from the stairs to this level from level 6. Go into the room where you found the note and you should see the secret opened. Take the BATTLE AXE, RING GREAVES and THROWING KNIVES.
 
Move out and kill the rest of the Slime and go into the Maze of Shadows.
 
Maze of Shadows-
This is a tricky place. Firstly, take out any torch you are carrying for light since it will mislead you by increasing the light. You need to know where the Darkness is. Look at the map above and follow the path. You can pick up - NOTE, HARDSTONE BRACELET, SCROLL OF DARKNESS, SLIME BELLS, you also find a hidden switch as shown above which opens a path to the portal. To the right of the switch is a WOODEN BOX. If you go thru the portal you can take - THROWING AXE, MOLE JERKY and CROSSBOW QUARREL. Go and follow the path out of the maze. You come to a door with a Demon Head past it.

If you go past the portcullis, you face a Fire Wraith, lead it back out and kill it. Fall down the pit which is near the Demon Head and take the BRACELET OF TIRIN. Move ahead and go to the left area and come into a room with a pressure plate in the middle. If you step on the plate then the walls around you open and a big group of Slime attack you. To avoid major damage just step on the plate facing the closed door and run ahead to the door and kill the Slime here. Take the IRON KEY and move left, now kill the Goo in the narrow path one by one and go back into that room and take the CRAG BEETLE and DIVINER'S CLOAK. Take the key to the keyhole near the pit to the left as you come out of this path and the pit closes. There are more Wraiths to kill. Move past them and you come to two pressure plates and a closed cullis gate. You need to step on the two plates such that the demon heads spit the Spectral Energy into the holes on the walls. Timing should be good here. After the gate opens, go in and take a left and take the THROWING AXE
 
Go ahead and do not take the left at which leads into a room with a portal yet. Keep going and you come to another room with a LIFESTONE and a FIRE TORC to the right. Go into the next area and into the first room to the left. You come to two pressure plates. Stand on the left plate till the cullis gate is fully opened and then immediately go right and come back left fast so that the demon heads shoots straight into the hole. This makes the walls around you go down and several wraith come at you. Move back into the narrow passage which led to this room and fight from there. After killing all of them go back and take the SHAMAN STAFF and SCROLL OF INVINSIBILITY. The room to left has a note. Go back all the way past the lifestone and into the room with the portal which we missed earlier.

Move to the left area (you need to walk a bit) and you come to another room with three pits to the left and a portal to the right. Fall into the pit.
 
You'll again come to anothe puzzle - a dangerous one too. The path ahead is made of pressure plates which make the demon head ahead shoot poison balls. Walk in a zig zag pattern to avoid the balls and move to the other end and take the BOOTS OF VALOUR from the right. If you use the lever to the left, the cells you might have seen earlier open up and spiders attack you. Kill them from here itself and only after they are dead, go ahead and take the BURROW RAT SKANK. Go thru the portal again and now, go straight and take the SACK. If you fall into the pit you can take a HEAVY SHIELD below kill an Ogre and pick up a MILKREED and CROSSBOW QUARREL and take the stairs back up.
 
Pull the lever here and go left till you come to five levers on the wall. First pull the first lefer to the left down then up and then pull the third and fifth levers down to open the walls around and then take the ASSASSIN'S DAGGER. Go back and move left and you come into a room with pits all over. The Demon Head is shooting Spectral energy into the hole. The pits open and close alternatively. Lure the Wraiths here out and kill them first. Then after the pits close walk ahead and block the energy from going into the hole. You can take the BRACES OF FORTITUDE to the rigth of the entrance and then go back and block the energy and there's a hidden switch on the wall to the left of the hole - indicated on the map, hit it and the door opens then you can exit this place. 
 
Go ahead and when you come to a branching path, walk right and keep going in all the way and you come to a tentacle moster. Kill it and pick up the FLAIL. Go back on the main path where you took the right and go ahead now and pick up the SKULL for any minotaur you might have in your party with the headhunter ability. Now, go right and around and you come to the room where there's three demon heads spittin energy at the holes. The heads do this in a sequence and do it very fast. You need to block all the energy from the three heads - make sure none of you party members are burdened with extra weight - their weight counter should be white, only then can you move around fast enough. The Iron Gate has SCROLL OF ECHANT FIRE ARROWS and CHITIN BOOTS. Go back to where you took the skull from and head into Level 8.

LEVEL 8: THE VAULT

TREASURE PRESENT IN THIS LEVEL...

Now this is a totally optional level, so incase you feel sick of the game and want to finish it in a hurry, then just keep going ahead and you will reach the stairs to the next level but you'll miss out a great weapon, a great piece of armor, one of the treasures of the game and also lots of exp points - so I don't see the point in missing all that.

As you enter, there's a hidden switch on the wall ahead to the left. Take the SCROLL OF SHOCK SHIELD, BLUEBERRY PIE, GRIM CAP and MILKREED and move ahead. You'll come to a lifestone, just a step ahead of it to the left is a closed gate behind which is a note you can reach for - look at it. If you conttinue forward, you come to the Iron Gate of this level but you need a Gear Key to open it and then you come to the stairs out of this level. So, all we have left is the note we found earlier. Go back to level 7 and look at the following pic -

 
You ought to see the resemblance, Go to the pointed wall and find the hidden switch - it look different from all the switches we faced earlier, somewhat like this -
 
Hit the swich and qickly run to to the place pointed since the wall closes again. Walk down the stairs to another area of The Vault.

Walk to the right and the wall opens, kill the Ogre and the wraith and hit the switch to the left to open the gate to the right. There's a Demon Head on the other head shooting lightning balls so be very careful - you need to move fast. You can enter left as soon as you go thru the gate. There's a lever which opens a door further down the hall where the demon head is. Go right of this room and take the LIGHTNING BOMBS. Move to the closed portcullis here and you see that there's a chain to open it. On the wall to the left is a hidden switch which opens a wall behind you revealing a pressure plate - nothing to do now. Go to the room to the right and hit the hidden switch to the left and the other one on the back of the pillar to the right - two more walls open with two more pressure plates. The lever just opens the gate here. Place something on all three ressure plates and a secret area opens having PLATE GAUNLETS and PLATE BOOTS. Go into the room directly across and hit the hidden switch directly opposite to the door you used to enter to open the next gate closer to the demon head. 
 
There's a lever here but save it for later. Go back out and hit the switch to the right of the entrance to the opposite room which opens a secret area immediately to the right of the Demon Head. Go there and pick up the GEAR KEY and LIGHTNING ROD. The lever in the previous room opens the door to the room which is to the left of this one. Go there next.

You will find three THROWING AXE in the first room to the left and a NOTE and FROST ARROW in the right room. Go back outside and straight down the hall - be warned - there are a lot of Fire Wraiths in the next area. You can find a TAR BEAD and LIGHTNING BOMBS and BREAD and another TAR BEAD in the areas shown above. There's a portal in the left most end of this entire area. Again, make sure you have sufficent health potions before you step into the portal.
 
The room is filled with all kinds of Herders - and there are more than a dozen of them - you have no where to go so you better keep moving all the time and kill them quick - use health potions on only your best fighter and let the others die. After you kill everything you can find two BRASS KEYS, a SKULL - take all the food dropped by the herders and then use one of the keys on the gate blocking the portal and go topside again. I suspect you need to use the lifesstone. Go to it and use it, while you are there, also use the gear key on the Iron Gate and take the HELMET OF VALOUR and ICE QUARREL. Use the other Brass key you have on the locked door to the right of this are and enter the next area.

There are pressure plates on all four corners of the room, before you place something on them be prepared for a fight. The walls open showing spiders and a fire wraith. The lever opens the gate to the next room. In the next room agai there are about four fire wraiths.
 
Go left ahead and take the GRIM CAP, MOLE JERKY, and PITROOT BREAD. The go back outside and there's a LEATHER CAP to the right. Hit the hidden switch on the pillar to the left to open the wall infront and take the WOODEN BOX and go to the gate ahead. You can find another hidden switch here but it just closes the wall opened by the previous switch. Go into the next room.
 
That is the most annoying spider in the entire game. Kill it as soon as possible with ranged attacks to stop it from moving around on the pressure plates which are making the demon heads shoot lightning. After killing the spider, hit the hidden switch on the wall to the right of the pits and the other Hidden Switch on the wall just opposite to the pits (if you fall into the pits you can pick up THROWING AXE and PITROOT BREAD. That opens the gate to the right which is the real Vault of the Dismantler. Before you reach for the Dismantler - which is a good sword, hit the hidden switch on the wall to the right to open a secret wall to the left revealing the GOLDEN DRAGON TREASURE. Now, onto THE LEGENDARY DISMANTLER . If you take it as it is then the gate closes and al the demon heads start shooting fireballs which will kill you - you cannot dodge them. So, just place something on the place where the Dismantler is before picking it up and you are good to go (Id it still does not work try placing a sword before pick it up). All the secrets of The Vault are now uncovered - let's head into the next level then - if you did not open the Iron Gate earlier then you can do it now.
 

LEVEL 9: GOROMORG TEMPLE I

Go right when you can and take the PITROOT BREAD to the right. Move down and you come to a switch to the right of the door (which is to the right in the end). Go in and kill the Fire Wraith and take the ORNATE KEY that it drops. You will find one SCROLL to the left now and another SCROLL to the left ahead, keep them both. Go back out and down the right path. There's a room filled with pressure plates. To the left of the room beside the gate far ahead is the SCROLL which is the key to solving this room. You need to place something on the pressure plates so that they are pressed in a chess board pattern as shown in the pic above. Go thru the gate and left ahead. You can find BROADHEAD ARROWS to the left corner and there's a hidden switch on the right of the wall to the right. This opens the wall here and you can take the NORJA BATTLE AXE and take the other stuff here like RING MAIL, IRON BASINET, LONGSWORD and LIGHTNING BOMB. Go back out and into the long hall ahead. Now, this hall keeps shifting every few steps so whenever you see it shift just turn around and continue till it shifts again and then turn around - you can also look at your map to see where you are going. You'll come out of the hallways soon and you come to the Temple Grounds.

Temple Grounds
 
This the the most dangerous path we faced till now. It's infested with Frost Lizards which look like miniature T Rex - baby Godzilla and so forth. Try not to get killed and one of them even drops a GOLD KEY so look out. Go to the second right and all the way in and hit the hidden switch which comes to the right again to open a secret wall in the first right area inside. Go back there and take the PIT FIGHTER GLOVES and LIGHTNING BOMBS. Go back onto the main path an go straight and left and you come to a lever. Go back onto the main path and left and a door opened where you can pick up the SCROLL OF LIGHTNING. Go back to the room with the lever and go right from in here, you come to a CIRCLET OF WAR first to the left in the end and if you move forward to some portcullis and go left and in the end you find LIGHTNING BOMBS. Go back to the two Portcullis gates (one's on the left and another on the right - as soon as you go in, shut both gates to avoid the lizards from coming in). You can rest here for a bit if you want to then continue down. Open the door to the right with the Ornate Key.
 
The hidden button in the left corner opens the gate back but we need to look around in here first. There are three rooms with three inscriptions on the wall which read -

Go into the Hands that Slauger area and enter the portal, do this a couple more times and you should see a SCROLL appear at the foot of the statue which you are teleported to. Read it and it gives you the sequence 3-2-1-3
 
Three Beings of the Deep - this is 3 since it clearly mentions the number
Hands that Slaughter, Eyes tha Deceive - this is 2 since we have two hands and two eyes
Sun of Hatred - this is one because the others are two and three (flawless logic)
 
Enter according to the combination then you will be teleported into a part of the next level. Take the scroll behind the left gate and read it. You need to have three torches to accomplish this or just follow the instructions here -
 
If you have the torches then place them on the holders in the three sides of the room and look for the shadow of the pillars cast by the two torches in the middle of the room. Stand in the area where the shadows cross and throw anything (I used throwing axes) to the North and East - look into your map and see where north and east are - just right and backwards and this opens the cullis gate. If you do not have three torches then stand near the portcullis in the middle of the room to the left, stand close to it facing it. Walk back three steps and right one step and thats the place where you need to throw the two things from. Take the CURAISS OF VALOR and go into the portal. Save the game now.
 
The pit ahead is closed and the one infront of it is opening and closing firstly, put something on the pressure plate you are standing on so that the pit ahead does not open up if you step on it. Look left and step right when the pit closes and put something on the plate behind the gate and walk left to avoid falling. After the gate opens, go in and turn left jsut as you enter to see a hidden switch which closes the pit outside. Go in and pull the lever then go around the other side - try not to step into the portal and hit the lever here and the gate to the right opens. Take the ORNATE KEY here. Go back to the room with the portals and then continue right on the main path into the next area.
 
No.3 (Blue Area)

You'll find TARBEAD in the area to the left. And if you continue down you come to the Pillared Hallway. The scroll you picked up in the beginning of the level is the hint to cross this hall. You need to take the number of steps on the left side and the right side lanes of the hall as you move forwards as mentioned on the scroll. I marked the path anyways above on the map but it is easier if you just read the scroll. Move ahead and go right and you come ot a left and a right, in the right room you come to a LURKER HOOD and in the left area is a STONE and a NOTE. Do not throw away the stone since you are going to need it soon. Go back on the main path and go right all the way till you reach a dead end. Walk back and hit the hidden switch to the left to open the path ahead an take the BOOK OF INFINITE WISDOM and the walls around you come down. Go to the left and collect the SULPHUROUS POTION and walk down the path the the left.

You come to a LIFESTONE and you have a small puzzle to solve. Place the objects according to their descriptions in the four places in this room -

After the door opens, go thru and take the SCROLL. Go ahead and take the right into a room. You can use the Gold Key on one of the Chambers here. The left one has BOOK OF INFINITE WISDOM, the right cell has FLAREFEATHER CAP and SERPENT BRACES and the one ahead has PLATE GREAVES and FROST BOMBS. Move ahead on the path and go straight after the first left to find and Iron Door. Place the Bone Amulet you found in an earlier level here to open the gate and take ZHANDUL's ORB. Your Ornate Key opens the other door, go in. You are in a long hallway which spirals into the center where the stairs are and you may be surprised.


LEVEL 10: GOROMORG TEMPLE II

Go left and take the ROUND KEY in the end. Go the other way and take the BAKED MAGGOT in the room. Now, some of the banner you are about to see on the walls cover things behind them. Look to the left banner as you enter the next room and hit it and it reveals a keyhole. If you place you key in it the walls around you come down revaling enemies and TAR BEADS and also more importantly a Demon Head. Go into the room to the right and take the NOTE in the right end, go back to the middle room and take the red gem and palce it in the wall on the left side and place something on the pressure plate to open the left cullis gate and go in. Take the ROUND KEY. You come to a lever to the left which opens the walls around revealing two Giant Wasps and a Fire Wraith. Kill them and go into the place to the left to take the GAUNLETS OF VALOUR. Go back and take the red gem with you and into the room to the right and place the key in the keyhole in this room and be ready to kill again. Take the MOLE JERKY. Now we also see a hole for the Demon Head show. Go back in the narrow and between all three rooms where you saw the switches. First hit the left switch then qucikly the right one to open the Inner Sanctum.
 
As soon as you step in, the walls around start coming down ahead and two new enemies show up - they are the statues that come to life - you have been seeing their statues all around for a long time now - the Goromorg's are here. These can be very annoying if you fight them in twos or fight them with another enemy. Kill them one by one whenever you see them. Kill the two here and move to the left of this large hall and you see a Switch to the left. Take the THROWING AXES and BAKED MAGGOT. Also, three more Goromorgs show up, you can run into the portal which opened up in the middle of the room or stay and kill the enemies. You are teleported into the next area.

You come to a LIFESTONE now and the Iron Gate is opened by placing the Red Gem you found in the previous level. Take the CROOKHORD BOW and THROWING AXE. Go to the right of this place all the way and to the left door, hit the switch here to open the door and go in, take the first left and pick up the GREAVES OF VALOUR. Go further left and straight and you find more Goromorg and SHURIKEN. If you fall into the pit which comes to the right then you can take MILKREED and FROST BOMBS, come back up using the stairs and pick up the SHIELD OF ELEMENTS. Go right and take the FROST BOMBS and POISON BOMBS. Walk down the path to the left ahead and go back all the way go to the left path in the end and you should be able to see a hidden switch to the right which opens the wall behind the lifestone, you can take - BLOODDROP BLOSSOM, QUARREL OF FIRE and NOTE. To the left ahead is a FULL HELMET. Go right and staright all the way and right in the end till you come into a large chamber where you find an ORNATE KEY in the end. But before you pick it up, place something there or you will awaken aout 5 tentacle monsters and also two Goromorg (you can kill the mfor a lot of Xp though). Go back on the main path and right in the end to enter the next area.

You come into a room where you see Ogres and a lot of Scavengers. There are three Ogres in total and a lot more Scavengers. Stay in the middle of the room and you come to a pit, wal a few steps ahead and fall into the pit here (if you look into the map it's the second pit from the right). You come here -

 
Go around and into the door and move ahead and you come to the ICE HAMMER - the best mace in the game and arguably also, the best weapon in the game. As you near it though the walls around you come down and Three Crabs, Two Herders and several smaller Herders come at you. Just run back to the right into the narrow lane and start kill them from here. You can go back behind the door you opened and close it and take a breather and kill from there too. You also find THROWING KNIVES and if you go further left you can take a SKULL and PITROOT BREAD. You find other minor stuff but walk back up the stairs and step on the pressure plate and go back to the pit where you fell from.

NOTE: You need the skull to get through later levels so do not discar it...
 
Go to the pillar to the left side and hit the hidden switch to the left of the pillar and go right ahead and take the two NOTES, ANCIENT AXE and TOORUM'S REMAINS. You find another NOTE to the right ahead - now if you paid attention to all the notes from Toorum, he mentioned something about CRYSTALS OF LIFE. We'll get to that later but just take a left ahead into the room and kill the Scavengers and take the NOTE - last of the game. Go back and move to the left and to the end right of this place. You see levers here - five again. Pull the first second and fourth levers down and a pit to the left end closes, take the ORNATE KEY. Go back to the door which had the two keyholes - back in the pink area and use the keys there. Go into the room to the right and hit the hidden switch in the right corner of the room to close the portal and open the pit. Take the SACK and SCALED CLOAK. Hit switch again to get the portal back in the room and go into the portal, move ahead and take the important PRISON KEY. Now go back to the lifestone and throw Toorum's Remains onto the stone and 'You hear a Distant Sigh of Relief" -- you revived Thoorum but you cannot meet him so go down the stairs here into the next level.


LEVEL 11: THE TOMB

 
Go left and read the SCROLL, you can't do anything here so just go down to the next level - you can come back here later so it's continued in level 13.


LEVEL 12 : THE PRISON

Move ahead and use the "Prison Key" on the hole to open the door - you get a message from the same guy who's been talking to us in our sleep again - we're close.
 
NOTE: Do not fall into the pits here unless mentioned.
 
This area has about half a dozen Goromorg and new enemies - The Guardians - bigger than Ogres. Whenever you come across an enemy kill him but do so only if ther are alone, if another enemy get close, move around the place but try not to fall into the pits. You can pick up a SCROLL from a pillar to the right. Go straigh ahead and to the left and you come to a place with four pillars - this is marked as a hidden switch above. Click on the empty slots in the wall here to get another message from our admirer. Then fall into the pit to the left of this palce as indicated above in the map and you are in Level 13.
 
 

LEVEL 13: THE CEMETERY

If you jumped into the proper pit then you should be near the portal now. If not, just make your way to the portal. To the left of the portal is a Hidden Switch which opens the Portcullis blocking the portal, the Portal takes us back to level 12 but we need to get some work done here first. Kill the enemies and go to the other end and take the STEEL GEAR. There's another Hidden Switch to the right, it opens a path nearby, hit it and make your way to the left. You should find an ORE and a SACK in this room. Go left again and right in the next place and take the INFUSOR from the wall. I pointed all the things we need as important things on the map so just ignore anthing else. Move past this area and take a left in the next place and take the BLADED GEAR. We now have everything to fix the portal machine on level 12 but we can still get a few things before we go back. Head back and to the left and straight and in the end to the right you see a small area, go in and hit the switch here to open the wall to the left, take the FIRE BOMBS, BAKED MAGGOT and SKANK.
 
Go thru the door to the right and take a right and hit the switch here, it opens a path ahead so go there and take the WOODEN BOX. Move to the right and you see "No Entrance" written on the wall but we already opened it so go there.
 
No.2 (Blue Area)

Keep going and kill the Crab which you face and it drops a GOLDEN KEY. Go right here and in the end you find a WOODEN BOX and a Hidden Switch to the right of it. This opens a door in another area so go back to where you fought the crab and go right and the wall in the end opened showing the GLOBE OF TETRATHON a treasure. Go back and straight and left all the way to the LIFESTONE and the three supply rooms again. The room to the left has a FIREBLADE, LIGHTNING BOMBS and FIRE BOMBS. The room straight ahead has a full set of PLATE ARMOUR SET - a full set including helmet, boots, etc. The room to the right has food, TAR BEADS, HEALTH and ENERGY POTIONS.
 
Go back to the portal on this level and to level 12 again. Take a look at this pic -

 
It mentions the places where you need to put proper things on the four sides in the pillars. Also shown is the place where a portal appears - you need to rush there afte you place all the things in the proper slots as you see what happens. Go up the stairs here to Level 11.
 
LEVEL 11 - THE TOMB (again)

This place is the Tomb of Designers. Just as you step into the narrow path look to the right and you see a hidden switch, hit it and move ahead and step on the plate. This makes the room flood with posion gas, move ahead to the door and hit the hidden switch to the left first and then right to open the door then exit. Go to the right path and look to the right and you see a wall with a hidden switch which has the carving of the man - a switch to treasure, here's the pic -



Hit it and look to the left and go in and grab the GOROMORG MINIATURE, you should have all the treasures in the game now. Go to the left here and go past the plate and take the ORNATE KEY. On your way back, before you step on the plates, just place something down on them because it's a trap. Now go to the left side lane and you come to a pit and a portal ahead. 
 
When the portal is not there, throw and axe or a rock or Shuriken across - you need to attack throw it. This closes the pit ahead, move there and note that the wall to the left where the portal appears has another hidden switch used to close the pit ahead. Go thru all the way and grab the next ORNATE KEY. Go to the door with the two keyholes and go in. There are scrolls to the left and right in the middle of the room, read them and go to the torch to the right and take it out and the WEAPON OF POWER appears to the left, take it and equip it on a character - mage most likely and head into the portal that came to get back to Level 12.
 
THE UNDYING
The Undying is a large machine which looks like an evil metal cube - which is more than anyone can say about it. It keep rolling at you and tries to crush you. Keep moving, for the first part of the fight you need to hit it with the weapon of power and each time it hits the undying will be paralyzed for a few seconds - go to it and take out the pieces of equipment which you put earlier - a total of four. If you fall into any of the pits then just take the portal back.. After you take them all out one by one you just need to keep hitting it till it explodes and the mountain collapses and we can all go home.
