OriginalsXenoblade Chronicles Walkthrough | Boss Guide: How to beat Arachno Queen
The best JRPG in years is finally here, but with all this content, it's easy to get lost. Thankfully, GameZone.com is here with our full Xenoblade Chronicles walkthrough and FAQ! This walkthrough assumes you are using the Wii Classic Controller. If you're using the standard Wii Remote, please consider buying an actual video game controller and playing the game correctly!
How to defeat the Arachno Queen

Deep in the Tephra Caves, Reyn has run into a bit of trouble, with this giant spider lady ready to rip him to shreads. Thankfully, Shulk recieves a new Monado power to help change the grisly future he's foreseen, casting the new Monado Shield power on the team, protecting the duo from Talent Arts.

Throughout the battle, Shulk's new power will let him glimpse the future, seeing what powerful attacks are coming. The Arachno Queen will continue to use Arachno Crush I throughout the battle. Thankfully, the Monado Shield protects against any Talent Arts (seen in white) whose level is less than or equal to the current Shield power level. So, if you see Arachno Crush I is coming, make sure your Monado Shields are online!

The battlefield around the Queen is swarming with Soldier Arachno. Use wide effect arts like Shulk's Monado Buster or Reyn's Wild Swing to take multiple enemies down at a time. One they've been dispatched, Reyn should attract the Queen's attention with his Lock-On ability. While she's distracted with the party tank, have Shulk move around to the Queen's backside and unload with Physical and Break Arts, hopefully setting up some Topples from Reyn for extra damage.
If you aren't quick enough, the Queen will use the Queen's Order ability to spawn additional Soldier Arachno. If her health is low enough, continue to concentrate your attacks solely on her, as the battle will end once she dies regardless of any other Arachno on the field.
For completing the battle, you'll get the key item: Queen's Gut Fluid. Yuck? You'll also earn the ability to use your affinity coins setting up Skill Links! Check back to the main walkthrough for details on this system!
