The PSP's lifetime is nearing a slow, painful end, and the NGP will soon take over as Sony's main portable gaming device. The company has already showcased the system, which sports HD visuals, nifty dual analog sticks, and potential PlayStation 3 ports in the future. Though we definitely want to see some original titles on the handheld, we can't help but be excited when we think about some of our favorite PlayStation 3 titles going portable. After all, when you're on the go for long stretches of time, you need something to hold your attention. Here are the top 10 PlayStation 3 exclusives that we're dying to see ported on the NGP.

10. Yakuza 4

Sega's open world crime series doesn't get the attention it deserves, but rest assured, Yakuza is a gritty, action-packed franchise that features enjoyable combat, neon lights, and awesome missions. The latest entry, Yakuza 4, is especially satisfying and features stellar brawling mechanics. It has a huge world for you to explore and a crazy amount of things to see and do. Plenty of older gamers spend a lot of time on the bus or riding the train, and a sandbox action-adventure game like Yakuza 4 would make the perfect companion for early NGP adopters.

9. 3D Dot Game Heroes

3D Dot Game Heroes is quite possibly one of the most charming and aesthetically pleasing games to come along in recent memory. It's also a Zelda clone, so it's twice as awesome. The game faithfully captures a lot of the essence that the very first Zelda gracefully exuded. At times, the game can feel like a bit of overkill, making it a perfect fit for a portable gaming system. 3D Dot Game Heroes would be a great pocket title for mobile gamers who want something they can play in small bursts.

8. Killzone 3

The recently released Killzone 3 isn't just a great entry in Sony's exclusive FPS franchise--it's also one of the most satisfying shooters on the PlayStation 3. The expansive environments and relentless enemies make for a thrill ride that you'll want to blast through with effective weapons and mighty explosives. The game just saw a release on the PlayStation 3, and it would be really cool if gamers could also play this title when they're away from their home consoles.

7. Heavy Rain

Some people may love it and others may hate it, but Heavy Rain is a modernized adventure game with plenty of content for gamers who like seeing everything their games have to offer. Heavy Rain's adventure mechanics make it an interesting candidate for the NGP, to say the least. Given the style, an NGP port would certainly keep adventure lovers busy when they don't have time to play at home.

6. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves managed to do two things on the PlayStation 3: it surpassed its great predecessor in terms of awesomeness, and it turned out to be one of the best games on Sony's current home console. Near-perfect action-adventure gameplay with tons of combat and challenging puzzles, a good story, and impressive multiplayer have all made Uncharted 2 one hell of a ride from start to finish. If Sony can launch a portable version of this game before the third entry in the series is released, NGP buyers will be in store for a real treat. Tomb Raider has nothing on Uncharted.

5. inFamous

inFamous is yet another kick-ass action-adventure game on the PlayStation 3, allowing you to play as a character who's gained superhuman abilities. Do you want to do the right thing and become a hero? Would you rather use your powers for evil? inFamous lets you take on the role of either hero or villain, and it gives you a massive city environment to save--or destroy. A sweet, modern, action-adventure game like inFamous would be a perfect fit for the NGP. You can bet it would catch the attention of portable gaming fans looking for some intense action to take with them everywhere they go.

4. Demon's Souls

There's really no other way to put this: Demon's Souls is a hellacious, brutal, and flat-out punishing action RPG that will make you shout all manner of expletives. Demon's Souls is also an awesome game that anyone with a penchant for ruthlessly tough games is sure to enjoy. The game's dark environments, horrendous creatures, and eerie vibe all present perfectly on the PlayStation 3. It would be interesting to see how the game translates onto the smaller screen of the NGP. Our guess is it would still look pretty freaking cool.

3. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

Hideo Kojima has already confirmed that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will not be ported to the NGP, and we can't understand why. An excellent combination of stealth and action, a gripping plot, and a protagonist who looks bad-ass despite the senility--all of these elements combine to make Metal Gear Solid 4 a robust package of gameplay and storytelling goodness. Simply put, this game is not only one of the best entries in Konami's famed stealth action series, but it's also one of the best games on the PlayStation 3. If that's not enough to warrant an NGP port, we don't know what is.

2. God of War III

One of the toughest anti-heroes in gaming made his PlayStation 3 debut in a big way. Tasked with taking on the gods once and for all, Kratos grabbed his dual blades and entered the bloody battle yet again. Like the previous games in the series, God of War III provided great platforming, stellar puzzles, and intense combat seamlessly. It's possible we'll see some new God of War games on the NGP, but a remake of the third main entry in the series would be a great little gem to take with you everywhere you go.

1. The Last Guardian

The Last Guardian hasn't even launched for the PlayStation 3, but we already know we want it on the NGP. After the amazing, ethereal, and beautiful experience that was Shadow of the Colossus, gamers have been anxiously awaiting Team Ico's next endeavor. From what we've seen so far, we can certainly vouch for The Last Guardian. This is the type of game that will likely be easier to appreciate on a big screen TV due to its awe-inspiring atmosphere, but because it looks so damn impressive, it's also the type of game you would want to take with you everywhere just to show it off. Team Ico dares to explore fantasy realms that give gamers chills and make them feel like a tiny spec on a giant world. We firmly believe The Last Guardian could accomplish that on a portable like the NGP, as well.

The NGP promises stellar HD visuals that rival those of the PlayStation 3. Let's hope that's true for all its games, because a handheld with that kind of power would be quite a sight. With Sony hinting that many of our favorites will be ported from the PlayStation 3, it's going to be cool to have a library of home console originals to take with us when we're away from home. Don't get us wrong--we want to see some original content developed for the NGP--but any of the titles listed here would make great portable companions.
