Xbox Controller S

Before (and after, for that matter) the Xbox was released, there was a lot of talk about the standard Xbox controller. It was much bigger and heavier than any other console controller, and jokes were made by those who had little faith in its design. But after the launch, the controller really wasn’t that bad after you played different games and got a good feel of the controller. When the Xbox was launched in Japan, the Xbox controller was modified and reconstructed to be smaller for the Japanese people, who traditionally have smaller hands. Many months later, Microsoft decided to bring the modified Japanese Xbox controller to North America. This was an excellent decision by Microsoft, and the Xbox controller “S”, as the Xbox controller “S” is a hit amongst gamers with small hands. If you really hated the standard controller that came with your Xbox, pay attention for a few minutes and read why the controller “S” is a much better investment than any other Xbox controller. The main purpose of bringing the controller “S” to North America was to offer those with smaller hand, or those who didn’t feel totally comfortable with the standard controller, a new way of experiencing the Xbox. The one thing you’ll definitely notice is the size of the controller. It’s very small and compact, perfect in size. Microsoft added a new design to the analog sticks, giving them much better grip and durability for handling. You’ll notice the same button layout as the standard controller, but Microsoft has changed the positions of the black, white, start, and back buttons. Another change to the controller is the Xbox logo--which used to be quite big and noticeable is now much more smaller, the way it should have been from the beginning. The controller “S” is a great, new, lighter addition to the Xbox that brings a well-designed and developed controller to the table. Getting used to the controller “S” shouldn’t take a long time to figure out. Ever since I got the new controller, I’ve never laid eyes or hands on the standard controller. The controller “S” has the same layout as the standard controller, but is only smaller and some buttons have been relocated. You’ll only have a little trouble with the black and white buttons. With there new positions, you might tend to forget where they have been placed and tap another button instead. The controller “S” is basically a better, more improved version of the standard controller. If you’re interested in purchasing one, it’s going to cost you $29.99 ($54.99 Canadian). It’s the same price as the standard controller, so it’s actually a great bargain to pick up one at this price and value. The controller is definitely worth the purchase, especially for those who are looking for a better Xbox controller or those who want to add another controller to their Xbox setup. It’s a controller that’s great if you’re looking for something new. You’d be a fool not to go and pick this up. --Chris Banovic
