Xbox 360 Music Service Unveiled

While talking at the Microsoft Partner Conference, Steve Ballmer announced a music service application coming to the 360 dashboard this fall.

Simply titled "Xbox Music," the service offers users 11 million songs at launch. Prices, content, and other details are yet to be revealed, but Ballmer did add that the application will use Kinect's voice features to search for songs.

As many know, Microsoft owns the Zune brand, and with a Zune application available already, it's not known whether this will be a replacement application that will elevate the Xbox 360 as a complete entertainment system or just a totally different application that will run alongside Zune and its marketplace.

Ballmer promised more details in the coming months.
