Xbox One screenshot feature not coming until 2015

December update will be smaller than previous months

Xbox One's eagerly awaited screenshot feature won't arrive until 2015, Microsoft's Phil Spencer.

Speaking to IGN, Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, said December will be "a time for us to pause for a little bit and settle just as all the new consoles are coming online."

As a result, big features like screenshot-taking will be pushed to 2015. "As we come back into the new year, we'll see new stuff, and screenshots is on the list," he said, admitting that it's "a little more technically challenging" than he originally thought.

"Two weeks ago, they think they’ve found a good solution for screenshots. They’re working on it. They know people want it. The team has a path to getting it done, and now it’s just prioritizing.”

The Xbox One will still get an update in December, but it'll be much smaller than what we've seen in the past. For example, November's Xbox One update, which was previewed earlier this week, will bring "new and exciting ways to watch TV and interact with the Xbox LIVE gaming community."
