Xbox LIVE down: Matchmaking, party chat ‘limited’

Xbox One social and gaming services 'limited'

Reports are rolling in that Xbox LIVE is down, with a number of users reporting issues with matchmaking and party chat.

For its part, Microsoft has already updated the Xbox LIVE status page, acknowledging "limited" social and gaming services across Xbox One and Xbox on Windows 10. Specifically, Microsoft lists "Joining other Xbox Live members in online games" as the affected services. The following is also mentioned under "limited": In-game matchmaking, cloud storage, finding friends, Game DVR, leaderboards, avatar editing, or pictures.

Microsoft also posted the following status update:

"Hey Xbox members, are you having trouble creating or joining your multiplayer sessions? We are aware of this issue and are working to get it fixed right away! Thank you for your patience while we work. We’ll post another update when more information becomes available."

Developers have also responded to the outage, pretty much passing the blame on to Microsoft.

Microsoft has had intermittent problems with Xbox LIVE since December.

It's worth noting that not everyone is being affected by these issues, but just because it's not happening to you doesn't mean it's not happening to someone across the world.
