Xbox 360 Dashboard Update Slated for November 25

Today, several sources have reported that the yearly fall dashboard update is expected to be released November 25 to all Xbox 360 owners. This years update is set to bring some of the most major changes since the NXE update released a couple years ago.

GigaOm was one of the first sources to break the news, reporting that their sources have indicated that the apps included with the update on the new "Applications" tab will be built using an implementation of Microsoft's Flash competitor Silverlight. For those unfamiliar with Silverlight,'s front page utilizes the flash viewer, allowing for updated banners.

GigaOm's sources also have suggested that Microsoft's goal is to open up the experience to third party app developers who will be able to build apps for the Xbox 360 - possibly an Xbox App store?

Nonetheless, expect major changes this November 25 when the new dashboard released to the entire 360 community.
