World of Warcraft's Death Grip on the MMO Market is Weakening
As of 2008, World of Warcraft accounted for 60% of the subscription-based MMO market, according to GamesIndustry.biz.
However, that number dropped to 54% in 2009, and as higher quality experiences like the Old Republic and the Torchlight MMO make their way to the market, Blizzard is going to need a cataclysmic turn of events to keep from losing even more market share.
