Will The Last Guardian Be Showcased at E3 with No Ueda?

In what may come as a bit of disappointing news to some gamers, Fumito Ueda has confirmed on his Twitter account that he will not be attending this year's E3 in Los Angeles. Obviously, this raises the question of whether or not gamers will be treated to a noteworthy reveal regarding The Last Guardian or any details related to the ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Collection release.

Sony could certainly showcase the game regardless of Ueda's presence, but that wouldn't be very cool. After all, as much as gamers want to see the game in action, there's no denying that special feel of having the actual lead designer present. Additionally, it's always great to hear what the creator has to say about the game after a lengthy trailer or during a gameplay session.

Of course, Ueda could be messing with us all. How cool would it be if, after learning that he won't be at E3 today, we see him walk out and start talking about The Last Guardian? That would be pretty sweet. He could also go for the less impactful yet still cool satellite appearance.

E3 is easily one of the biggest press events of the year for gaming, so it's a bummer that Ueda won't be showing up. Let's hope we still get some news about both The Last Guardian and ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Collection. E3 will kick off on Tuesday, June 7.
