[Watch] Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor releases new 4K gameplay video

A very familiar sight.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, the follow-up to 2014's Shadow of Mordor was officially revealed to the world back in February, and today IGN got an exclusive look at one of the game's key sections, Minas Ithil. What's unique about the video is that we get a look how the game functions within an urban environment.

Here's the video:

One thing that's immediately apparent is that Shadow of War looks exactly like Shadow of Mordor. So much so that if you took a screenshot of both and held them side by side, you might be hard-pressed to tell which is which. That said, there is far more to games than pure graphical fidelity, as Minas Ithil's cityscape represents a dramatic departure from the kinds of environments in Shadow of Mordor.

There also appears to be a lot more space to move around in, which (hopefully) will lend itself to authentically larger battles with more meaningful consequences.

This is the second major gameplay reveal that Shadow of War has gotten, as there's also a 16-minute gameplay demo which you can check out here. Middle-Earth: Shadow of War releases on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on August 25th, 2017.
