Wasteland 1 - The Original Classic goes gold for GOG and Steam

Wasteland 1

InXile Entertainment's rerelease of the original Wasteland has gone gold and is undergoing platform approval at GOG and Steam, according to an update on the Wasteland 2 Kickstarter.

The developer has made a few adjustments to the post-apocalyptic computer role-playing game, which debuted in 1988 and features turn-based combat and top-down exploration. InXile has upgraded Wasteland 1 - The Original Classic to run on modern PCs (including Mac and Linux systems) and higher resolutions. It also added in a music track from Wasteland 2 composer Mark Morgan, texts from the manual and paragraph book, and more save functionality.

Also available are optional overhauls to the enemy portraits; a choice of upscaled, smoothed, or original resolution; and paragraph voiceover.

Backers of the Wasteland 2 Kickstarter will get a copy for free.
