Two more LEGO Minecraft sets on the way
A few years ago, LEGO announced a line of Minecraft-inspired playsets. The physical blocks of LEGO would go on to meet the virtual blocks of Minecraft in what was seen as a match made in heaven. Now, nearly two years later, the LEGO Group announced it will be expanding its line with the addition of two new sets -- The Village and The Nether.
"Given our similarities, Minecraft and LEGO building have always been a great match. After the excitement over the first set, we were delighted to extend the line and continue our partnership with The LEGO Group," said Lydia Winters, Mojang's director of fun. "We can't wait to see what the two communities create now that there are multiple LEGO Minecraft worlds to build and explore."
The Village allows fans to "create and customize their own Minecraft village." This means you can build houses, grow crops, and explore the mines with Pig, Villager, and Zombie constructible Micromob figures.
The Nether lets you create the Minecraft Obsidian Portal and the Nether. It includes Netherrack, gravel, flowing lava and bedrock, along with two Ghasts and one Zombie Pigman constructible Micromob figures.
Both new sets will be available beginning September 1, 2013 for $34.99, but those at San Diego Comic-Con can get a first look at each of them for the first time.
