Trailer for The Binding of Isaac Launches, Is Creepy
A trailer for Edmund McMillen's The Binding of Isaac just hit the internet, and it's all kinds of creepy! The clip features a naked dude running around in terror through the dark. The guy claws at his face, screams loudly, and even seems to turn into a monster. Well, at least from the neck up.
It's not all eerie insanity, though. There's also a bit of gameplay footage in the trailer. The clip showcases Isaac running through various dungeons, shooting enemies, and even blowing up walls to access other rooms (like in the original Zelda for the NES).
After reading interviews and tweets from McMillen, I kind of had an idea of what to expect from this roguelike shooter. Having just watched the trailer and seeing bits and pieces of it play out, though, I can definitely say I have a clearer picture of the flow of the game. For those of you who didn't think a roguelike shooter could exist, well, it can.
The trailer for The Binding of Isaac was created by James ID, the same guy who made the retro-style Super Meat Boy trailer. Check it out, and be prepared for some weird visual imagery. There's still no concrete release date for The Binding of Isaac, but it will land on Steam sometime in September.
