Top Five Game Sales according to Amazon (4/8)

Amazon's top five best sellers this week include a few surprises and many names you're probably sick of hearing. Just Dance 2, anyone? By this point, I imagine that Amazon has a warehouse constructed of copies of this game that they're slowly disassembling disc by disc.

And what week would be complete without Pokemon Black and White? The game has hogged the charts, and I've kept my mouth shut so far, but I need to ask: What's the deal with Pokemon White outselling Black every week without fail? I'd love to know what's going on there, but I'm also afraid I won't like the answer.

Shaking up the US charts a bit this week is a sale on the Kinect and Kinect Sports that put the game at number three, with the peripheral ranking as one of this week's best sellers, as well. As of this writing, you can still grab the Kinect for a slightly cheaper $139.00 and Kinect Sports for a very reasonable $34.99.

Japan has the most excitement going on, with two new entries in the charts. Number one is Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 – Professional (phew!), a re-release of Joker 2. Trailing right behind that is a portable version of Earth Defense Force 2. If you're familiar with the 360 version of EDF, this PSP game is a portable version of the prequel to that game.

As always, check out the full list below and have a great weekend!

North America: 1. Just Dance 2 (Ubisoft, Wii) 2. Pokemon White Version (Nintendo, DS) 3. Kinect Sports (Microsoft, 360) 4. Pokemon Black Version (Nintendo, DS) 5. Call of Duty: Black Ops (Activision, 360)

UK: 1. Zumba Fitness (505 Games, Wii) 2. Pokemon White Version (Nintendo, DS) 3. LEGO Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars (Activision, Wii) 3. Just Dance 2 (Ubisoft, Wii) 4. Pokemon Black Version (Nintendo, DS)

Japan: 1. Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 - Professional (Square Enix, DS) 2. Earth Defense Force 2: Portable 3. Amagami Ebikore + (Kadokawa GAMES, PSP) 4. Dynasty Warriors 6 (Koei, PS3) 5. Monster Hunter Portable 3rd (Capcom, PSP)

Joe Donato Video games became an amazing, artful, interactive story-driven medium for me right around when I played Panzer Dragoon Saga on Sega Saturn. Ever since then, I've wanted to be a part of this industry. Somewhere along the line I, possibly foolishly, decided I'd rather write about them than actually make them. So here I am.
