Top Five Game Sales According to Amazon (4/1)

If Just Dance 2 hadn't dominated the Amazon Top Five in the US and UK since release, I'd probably think this was some kind of April Fools' prank. Once again, the Wii dancing phenomenon is back on top, leaving most of us scratching our heads while soccer moms and little sisters around the world dance the day away. Imagine if they ever find out about Dance Central ...

But enough about the Amazon veteran. What new games are we welcoming into the top ranks this week? With the Nintendo 3DS out for a little under a week now in the US, it's only natural that a 3DS game makes it onto the list. That game is Street Fighter IV, arguably the best of the bunch. At the crossroads of shoppers and 3DS owners, we seem to have found some common ground: good taste. Those wondering what to check out should take a look at our 3DS Buyer's Guide.

Other new top sellers this week include both the 360 and PS3 versions of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters. The game finds its way onto both the US and UK charts this week, shutting up anyone who thought Tiger's public image would deter the series' popularity.

By far the biggest curiosity this week is the inclusion of both the PS3 and 360 versions of Crysis 2 on the Japanese charts. While there are small communities of FPS fans in Japan, not even the Halos and Call of Duties of the world truly break out.

For the full breakdown of Top Fives for each region, see the lists below. See you again next week!

Joe Donato Video games became an amazing, artful, interactive story-driven medium for me right around when I played Panzer Dragoon Saga on Sega Saturn. Ever since then, I've wanted to be a part of this industry. Somewhere along the line I, possibly foolishly, decided I'd rather write about them than actually make them. So here I am.
